Concealed carry is a thing. Not as uncommon as you think. When I worked my first job as a cashier in high school, loads of people wore a gun on the hip. If more people were taught about guns, gun safety, and learned to shoot properly, the country would be safer. Not sure what states you are from but the South is not scared of someone holding a gun. Also I think only a hand full of states can open carry without a permit

Which ones? Are gun owners a homogenous group? If so, your average dude with a .22 for killing threats to his livestock is presumably as likely as any other gun owner to shoot up an elementary school.
In your wisdom explain to me the need to carry those weapons into the building, was it to intimidate or just their normal daily attire.
