I would stop well short of calling the Democrats 'the good guys'. If all that's necessary to be 'the good guys' is not blatantly (and demonstrably!) lying in public at the drop of a hat for no good reason, Heaven is going to get very crowded.
But yes, the Democrats are blue and the Republicans are red, which is ironic seeing that McCarthy was a Republican.

I was having a conversation similar to you sentiment with a friend of mine.
Friend sent me a picture of people getting right into the face of cops in the San Diego protest.
We were both discussing what if the were black?
In short we both agreed the riot squad would be out and the same people now in the cops faces would be screaming blue lives matter online blaming antifa or some other black group for causing trouble and violence.
They would certainly have had riot gear, if only for the protection of the masks!

Sadly the fastest way to bring serious gun control to this country would be to arm black people. If a bunch of African-Americans started open carrying assault rifles in areas white people frequent it would all be over in a couple of weeks.
Although true. It would lead to a lot more shootings before they pass the bill. More shootings of innocent unarmed black people.
Or the very least rounding up many black people for no reason. It would go to the extreme before common sense comes forth.
Just like we have seen when there's been black shooters in the past.

ive been to plenty of the anti trump protests outside the state house and if the crowd had illegally blocked Beacon st. The cops would have waded in batons drawn.
