His first mention of it was on March 16th during a press conference. He actually said 1917 or 1918. He wasnt sure. The wbite house transcript is online.
The question he had been asked was if he thinks the virus will wash through and prevent a recession like he had previously stated.
He then went on some incoherent rant about not seeing something like this except maybe 1917 or 1918.
I guess no one ever corrected him.
Illegal aliens can live in those cities without reprisals from local law enforcement while they sort out their status.
Law enforcement will not arrest them for simply being illegal. The local law enforcement will not work with the federal government to round up illegals.
If they are accused a crime they are entitled to representation and again their status is not a factor until a guilty verdict and the judge and the city then decides what to do with them.

Steve, I think you know that you and I agree more often than we disagree but ugh... the way the US in general refers to people who risk huge amounts (of either money, safety or liberty) to get to a place where they believe they can build a better life for them and their families is just.... gross.

Tbf, it's an Occam's razor thing here. It doesn't really matter in the scheme of things, but if I were a betting man, I would suggest that he's saying 1917 because he is upholding his long and unbroken tradition of being clueless and not because he is going by recent research hypotheses.

I don’t like it. I know you don’t. I know you didn’t ask for it. I know you have to deal with it more than me. I empathise. But it’s what happened. Every day he hangs on to office is a victory that goes down in history giving how remarkably stupid he is it’s an achievement.

You are asking us to say he knows when the Spanish Flu started because he was briefed, but if that’s the case why did he suggest bleach and internal UV light as a cure?
