Yep, it has been fairly significant since their "but the economy" crutch was kicked out from under them. Probably working overtime to reframe the gobshite's activity into some sort of 4 dimensional chess game, or waiting until he does something remotely right that they can lean on. I could certainly see him trying. Who knows how it would work out. Never thought I’d see a day where entire cities full of Americans would just sit back and allow their government to tell them they can’t leave their homes, but sure enough, here we are.

We in the UK did the exact same thing to Germans and Italians and encamped them on the Isle of Man. It was based on nationality, not race. The logic is perfectly sound and any nation - even now - would do the exact same thing again.

The issue with the Japanese camps was them persisting when it was clear no threat existed, especially after Midway.

If you can't make the distinction and you're solely going on hindsight, I can't help you. But I maintain that the USA would have been utterly mental not to take that action at that time, for around 3 to 6 months.

Exactly, and the state department might have a minor role in supply chain in terms of procuring more medical supplies, however that is largely not their role. An investigation into IF China did drag their feet is more their place.

One branch of the government working on another aspect of this isn't necessarily diverting efforts from working on the domestic fight against Covid19.
