Unfortunately I think statement is just a public troll of Trump in the lead up to the talks, if they had something (either real or invented) that gave them an edge in the trade negotiations I’d be very surprised if ethics stopped them from using it. Also China are in a much more knowledgeable position than Russia ever was re hacking info.
