Watched about 10 minutes of that @mezzrow and have to say I think that guy is full of it.

Making it seem like Republican candidates in the past didn't want win nasty.

2008 was an incredibly nasty/dirty smear campaign on Obama. They said he wasn't American, they said he was a Muslim, their campaign spammed the internet and old school mailboxes, and voicemail boxes with those lies. A campaign ran on fear of a black president.

What a short memory that fella has.

Interesting that you focus only on how the Republicans campaigned vs Obama in 2008.

The same Hillary Clinton you probably voted for in 2016.

I am just a poor boy
Though my story's seldom told
I have squandered my resistance
For a pocketful of mumbles
Such are promises
All lies and jests
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest

I would vote for a turd before voting for a republican if I'm totally honest.

*edit...and let's be clear about 2008...she didn't get the nomination because of her tactics. We didn't buy it.

Because they speak both to and of the human condition. The words apply to all of us.

Sorry if I am being obtuse, but I still am not following.

I think that guy clearly had an agenda...and I'm not buying it. He's clearly taking sides by simply referencing Bay Area folks as 'the elite'. Like that somehow the poor people in the Bay Area are somehow more elite than the poor people of Tulare County.

It's such a ridiculous claim the right try to make about urban areas.

The irony is something you can't lose sight of but can you imagine the reaction if say Corbyn won an election and it was revealed the Russians had actively supported his bid ? Heads would fall off everywhere but it's Trump so it's all good , amongst many things the lack of response astounds me but it's probably on me it's been a long day .

When a billionaire can openly boast that it was "smart" of him to find ways to avoid paying taxes for years and is still able to convince unemployed auto workers in Michigan that he speaks for them then there is absolutely nowt the bugger won't get away with.

Yep...they lapped up his rhetoric like he actually wants what's best for them. Make no mistake, he only wants what's best for him and couldn't give even the slightest fart from his backside about them.

in keeping with the principle of "nobody is allowed to criticise one man's specific misdeeds, without also criticising all of the misdeeds, ever," I would like to formally condemn Attila the Hun's hurtful and abusive language (to say nothing of his controversial disregard for human rights, and the terms of the 1899 and 1907 Hague Conventions!)

A chorus of "But She Started It!!!!!" at every occasion does not amount to "cool neutrality, and more nuanced analysis"

In Northern Ireland they have a name for that sort of thing....a phrase coined by the late, great BBC NI journalist, David Dunseith.

"Whataboutery"

And it means that when they were having the shooting war over there, if a politician from one side condemned the other side for shooting someone or blowing somewhere up, a politician from that other side would say "ah.....but what about this, that or thon incident your lot perpetrated on us"

One eyed view point or what. Just wait few months and well get back to the case of unemployed auto workers.
