That same guy - Chris Hayes - was basically told to shut up by the official Auschwitz Twitter account for defending AOC's comments about concentration camps. If you don't live here and don't know who people like Chris Hayes are, be careful about using them to prop your arguments, the media here is incredibly biased on both sides. All people outside of America hear about is how bad Fox is, the truth is channels like MSNBC, which Chris Hayes is from, is just as bad for the liberal left

It was because he thought there was a difference between a death camp and concentration camp.
Liz Cheney said that AOC should not have used concentration camp because of the memory of the 6m that died during the war.

Thing is children are treated poorly and a couple have died hence AOC statement. AOC was comparing their treatment in a poor comparison. Either way shes not wrong when she says something should change and kids should be treated better and not be getting sick and dying.
Anyway Hayes should have stayed quiet and let her defend herself which she is more than capable.
I bet the Memorial account could care less about AOC comments nor would they want to have a take on the border situation.

According to the American Heritage dictionary it defines it as " a camp where persons are detained without trial or hearings usually in harsh conditions because they belong to a group the government has declared undesirable or dangerous".
First used in the 1830s by the Spanish in Cuba.

I don’t give a damn what you call the camps, I care what is going on in them.
The article I quoted had lawyers who recently visited a camp reporting that children were having to care for toddlers and multiple children were sick and without basic facilities to wash or decent food to eat. This is on top of government lawyers arguing in court the Flores agreement did not mean that they are required to give detained kids beds, adequate heating or soap and toothbrushes.
These are KIDS ffs, this should be abhorrent whatever your politics or whatever guy is president.

This country is so lost. I post on my American Football board and get destroyed for my opinions. I brought this up and was told that the solution was easy, tell the toddlers to walk the other way.
I mentioned how stupid that post was and how these kids aren't making the decision, an American child wouldn't be blamed for doing what their parents told them to at that age.
All I got was insults. The lack of seeing humanity in other people is at an all time low in my lifetime. I really don't know how it changes.
I got a political science degree but got out of it when I saw what it was. Everyone just wants to tear each other down. I got into it naively to hopefully help things.

It just all makes me really sad. Who can watch a kid sleep on the floor in poor conditions without basic necessities and feel OK about it. We really are in a bad place.
