Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

no doubt about what, rascal? why is he illegitimate?

if you're referring to the FBI increasing pressure on Russia by implicating hackers from their (huge) country leaked Clinton mails to Wikileaks then you may be disappointed to hear that even the FBI admit the overall impact to the election results was underwhelming.

What about all these leaks implicating Trump's rudeness towards women? Would they have made a Clinton win illegitimate?

I'm just using the argument nut jobs put forward against Obama against them. It's kind of good fun tbfh. I can see why they do it. For the enjoyment, rather than actually believing it themselves. Right?

Good points. Good start would be that democrats and liberals would start to live by their principles and give Trump a chance because he won fair democratic elections.
THATS the bottom line here.

Give him a chance? I didn't vote for him...his agenda is not the agenda that the majority of voters in this country wanted.

He lost by what is approaching 3 million votes and over 2 percentage points. He is in due to a very flawed system that has failed yet again to put the correct person in the white house.

He does not have my support unless his agenda changes.

I hope he is a success, because it would mean a success for my country. The early signs are showing that he wants to take my country backwards to failed social and economic policies of the past.

While I cant defend Katie's previously calling migrants cockroaches recently she has been far more interesting visiting the Calais refugee camps and Cuba where she wrote some surprisingly insightful articles.

Even her liberal bashing has been fairly on the mark (I remember her laying into Chukka Ummuna for just sniping at labours leadership from the sidelines rather than actually standing for leader himself).

Though I don't always agree with her I rate her as a bright star burning brightly and I hope she survives her health issues.

Katie Hopkins can go and die for all I care. She is a stain on the underpants of humanity. However I will say kudos to her for finding a niche that works for her, being a professional troll with the sole intention of pissing everyone off isn't something that I'd do but she is a bright woman, which is a lot more than can be said for Mensch.

Sorry to say this mate but he's failed already, abysmally in fact. One of his stated aims was to 'drain the swamp' well he's set about filling it up even more with some of the worst, most corrupt people in any walk of life. He's a total failure.

Well the Electoral vote doesn't happen for a few more days.

I still can't believe that $25 million fraud settlement has largely been ignored. He defrauded Americans out of a huge sum of money, settled out of court (for the umpteenth time so that he can't be found guilty), and his minions DNGAF at all. Like he will actually care about the average Joe that voted for him. He cares about 1 person and 1 person only...and the Russia stuff is off the charts worrying...but 'NOTHING TO SEE HERE' apparently.

Which is exactly what I am trying to do but your constant crowing and sniping is certainly not making it any easier, perhaps practice what you preach by not instantly tarring every action by the "other side".

ok, less of the lark from me now....i'd agree with this 100% - it's vital, and possibly the most important thing we all have to attempt these next 5 or 10 years. Less tribalism, less drawing lines and taking sides, less identity politics. More inclusiveness, more empathy and more thoughtful nuance.

Big big challenge...for both sides.

Otherwise if we keep going down this drawing-lines crap, we may end up with serious societal issues: at best more recession, at worst civil war.

Simon Jenkins is hit-n-miss but sometimes he's so bang on with my thinking, especially his last two:

populism – the term no longer means anything - Politicians and philosophers, proceed with extreme caution. The political words we all learned in childhood – left, right, liberal, conservative – are turning to dust

Blame the identity apostles – they led us down this path to populism - With its over-defensive advocacy of minorities, the left has jeopardised half a century of liberalism

Political differences are fine, (for instance I'm a liberal but I have many friends who consider themselves to be authoritarian) but I'm not going to seek to emphasise with people who consider their fellow man to be beneath them because of the colour of their skin, gender, sexual orientation, nationality or social status. I will not seek to find common ground with supremacists. If that risks creating further division between me and supporters of President-elect Snowflake then you should learn to suck it up.

yep, the cynicism of it all is impressive, if not surprising.

the Republican Party - contempt for which inspired many to vote Trump in the first place - is now in control, in exchange for token gestures of white nationalism and Trump's conflicts of interest going unchallenged. trusting a career con man to be your saviour - who could have imagined that things could go wrong!

as far as the "lets wait and see" idea, i think it's probably already clear how this is going to go. you can tell from his appointments so far, and from the preliminary plans already made public, such as Friday's announcement to gut social security.

Merry Christmas Trumplings!

what do the more thoughtful, less WUM/troll Republicans think so far?

I Seriously think you should accept the defeat already. You would be very happy and very ok about the electorial college system if democrat would have won. Theres also positives in current and unique system believe it or not.

Imagine the field day Fox and the Right would have if Obama had settled a fraud case out of court.

As for Trump being somehow comparable to Corbyn, it's all smoke and mirrors. For a start, he's put a climate change denier in charge of climate change (arguably the single biggest issue on the table right now) and now he's about to appoint a Putin crony as his Secretary of State. It's like a satire.

Oh, and he's a conman, a racist and a rapist.

Other than that (and the mocking of disabled people) he's fine.

More people could start doing what you already have if mainstream media would accept the reality. Instead they still are pushing the agenda that only deepens the trenches.
