Trump donates his yearly salary back to government agencies. He's working for free. You can see why a lot of people support him.

It's a show.

Federal Regulations prohibit donations to specific agencies of the government being accepted unless Congress specifically authorizes it. There's been no action by Congress that I am aware of permitting such donations to be accepted so his checks simply go into the General Treasury.

If "lots of people" understood the POTUS is violating the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution for personal benefit I'd wonder how supportive they'd be regarding his forfeiture of salary?

Yes, an update would be nice.

Here are the figures :

If he's worth what he says he is that money is inconsequential to him and the US Budget has trillions in expenditures so it doesn't matter for that purpose either. He's donating his salary for no reason but to score points and show how "selfless" he is. Good job eating it up.

I'm not eating it up, his support is. And so what if he's rich, that's hardly a reason to criticise his charity. George W wasn't exactly poor either, did he donate his Pres salary?

Seeing as I pay his wages, I'd love a look at his tax return to see how that is reported.
Of course he denied writing similar checks to pay off stormy Daniels while POTUS. I wouldn't mind having a look at how that's reported too.

I don't know whether Bush did because he didn't feel the need to brag about it in an attempt to show how selfless he was. Instead he did his job.
