So SDNY have got testimony (and presumably other evidence) from both Cohen and AMI that Trump's hush money payments were made directly to influence the election and not for personal reasons.

A jury acquitted John Edwards of campaign violations for his hush money payments because they could not rule beyond reasonable doubt that they were to influence the campaign rather than to keep his affair and lovechild private from his wife who was dying from cancer.
