Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

In each of the two previous US Administrations, comprehensive immigration reform bills were passed by the Senate and supported by the President. Each time the US House killed it. No matter what reasons given by Congressional Republicans, the honest answer is that there is campaign money to be raised on the issue and voters to gin up every two years in the "law and order" crowd. No different than abortion... another topic US "conservatives" have literally zero interest in addressing openly and honestly.

Here in Texas, the utterly vile Ted Cruz is now accusing Beto O'Rourke of materially supporting the "caravan" and having not said whether they can cross illegally. That's odd because while Ted demagogues, Beto worked with Texas' senior Senator on actual comprehensive immigration reform measures.

There are reasons why Cruz was called a "miserable son of a bitch" by Speaker Boehner, why President Bush said, "I just don't like the guy" and Lindsay Graham said if Ted were killed on the floor of the Senate and the trial was held in the Senate, no Senator would convict the killer.

I still don't think Beto will win the race as there are too many Christopublicans in my home state but I don't think anyone in the Senate (well, maybe McConnell) would cry if he replaced.... Ted.

The fact that the race between Cruz and Beto O’Rourke is even close depresses the living daylights out of me.

Nice to see he’s taking a decision that will result in hardship (at a minimum) and deaths (at worst) of innocent people seriously, and treating it with the gravitas that it deserves.

How anyone holds anything other than contempt for that “man” just baffles me. Absolute waste of skin and bone.

At least there's no waste of brain cells

Remember when Obama was called ‘unpresidental’ for wearing a tan suit a few years back?

Heady days for indeed...

Keeping with the theme of the Tweet.

Hope he gets Oberyn Martell'd.

My friend, then you don't know the foolishness that is Texas.

If an independent nation it would be the 10th largest economic power in the world yet cannot educate its people, cannot find a way to provide affordable health insurance to its citizens, pollutes the air and water quite efficiently as well as incarcerates its citizens at a remarkably high rate. For some reason, the citizens of this state like the situation so much they refuse to vote at a rate higher than any other state in the nation.

The Christopublicans who do turn out to vote, vote to make sure the blacks and Hispanics cannot have abortions and the rest of the Republicans in the state do so to make sure those who don't vote shoulder a disproportionate rate of taxation.

It's pretty well f'ed up. Outside of that... I love it.

If I were the owner of a company, any individual who walked several thousand miles for a new life and job, I'd hire on the spot. Instead our racist scumbag president is threatening to have them shot. Welcome to the new USA.

For all Trump (and the GOPs, and the nativist right wing over here and in Europe) horrible rhetoric and actions with regards to immigrants, a system that almost requires people to walk thousands of miles, makes them pay thousands of pounds to serious criminals and requires them to face extreme levels of risk just because they think - wrongly in many if not most cases - they will have a better life is a system that needs to be stopped.

Whatever we do to solve this crisis, making people do that must stop.

C'mon... We just need to democrats to win the majority in the house of representatives!

You can see with all of this rallying... All the fearmongering rhetoric... Sending the troops to the border... The middle class tax cut that he brought up out of the blue... The calls to abolish birthright citizenship. These are the actions of a man who is desperate, and anything that he thinks will manipulate more people into voting for the republicans, he's trying! No holds barred! Full throttle!

He knows if the democrats win, they'll start digging and if they find anything (which they will), they'll start the impeachment process. My guess: They'll start with subpoenaing his tax returns.

Agreed on all counts. I'm only saying that for whatever (perhaps illusory) opportunities people leave Tegucigalpa or wherever, you can't knock their courage, motivation, and wherewithall for doing so (which includes their awareness of paying increasingly exploitative coyotes). But all this can be rightly separated from the structural/economic/political factors that lead to these mass emigrations. And it certainly doesn't help to have a racist president in the intended host country who fans the racist flames for political gain.
