I really hope there isn't some kind of stand off between the military and the caravan. All it takes is one mistake for that to turn a whole new degree of unseemly.

Where are they going to be kept whilst everything gets verified ?

People are already upset that families are getting separated.

Maybe they can put them on someone else's island or leave them on freight ships like your own country does.

Given that the country you claim to be from are the experts at detaining immigrants and refugees, i am surprised you have no idea how it works. All countries just like your own have legal processes and facilities for such applicants.

Clearly you have no idea how refugees get processed despite the fact your "best friends" were refugees.

What's funny is for someone who repeatedly gets upset with the majority on here who disagree with you and tell us we do it because we don't like your opinions because they are the opposite but when in fact its because your points are awful, inaccurate and naive.

Typical.

I don't get upset at people for having a different opinion. Point out where I have if your going to start throwing such absurd allegations about.

I understand the vast majority on here are left leaning and oppose Trump's plan in regard to these people. However I'd just like to know what people suggest happen when thousands of people seeking aslyum eventually turn up at the border.

Is it expected they'll be processed whilst waiting there and if so how long will that take ?
Will they be allowed to enter the US and remain until their claim of asylum is verfiied ? If so, how does the state attempt to then locate those who have found to not be worthy of asylum ?

I've already suggested if you cared to take the blinkers off and read some of my posts instead of see the name and getting all worked up that these aslyum seekers should seek to attend some of the embassies and consulates in Mexico and lodge their claims there instead of heading straight to the border which may result into a situation which doesn't end well for all.

And of course I understand how it works here in Australia but unlike a lot of countries Australia isn't a landlocked country where we experience thousands of asylum seekers arriving at once or over the course of a certain amount of time.

You need to stop jumping to conclusions about where I stand on immigration and aslyum seekers simply because I have a different position/stance/opinion.

Im for immigration, I believe it has its benefits ongst other things, however I also believe it needs to be done right. That everyone coming through is able to be verified, accounted for and basically coming for the right intentions. Without conducting appropriate checks how is this able to be achieved ?

What you are not understanding (and what Trump is lying about) is that it is legal for people to seek asylum at any port of entry in this country.

This whole military mobilization is a massive waste of money. It's a call to his xenophobic base to vote on Tuesday.

You don't though understand how it works you pretty much summed up in this post that you don't The highlighted proves that.

And clearly you do not know how it works in Australia either. What has being an island got to do with it? Australia literally receives thousands of seekers by boat/ship or by plane every week. Of the major nations its right up there with asylum seekers.

If you did you would know Australia much like every other country processes them the same. They take them in and house them in a smaller town or city or detain them in a camp/prison in the outback somewhere.

Clearly out of your depth with knowledge.

I have read your posts you keep repeating yourself and pointing out how they will be a burden but its no different to anywhere else and like what everyone else has posted in response to your claiming asylum is perfectly legal.

The US also has camps/prisons/ or "housing" for those seeking asylum or waiting to be heard for any visa issue.

Also you keep repeating the consulate/embassy thing

Asylum seekers cannot claim asylum at an embassy generally and they definitely cannot drop in on a consulate. Please look up what a consulate is.

Embassies generally deal with issues for their own citizens only and visa seekers would have to apply for a visa before visiting an embassy. Only citizens of that embassies nation can drop in seeking help.

Asylum seekers need to make the port of entry of the country they are seeking asylum or a refugee camp with facilities to claim said status.

Clearly you are not a multi using VPN or a WUM but you are a real curious lad who seems to always defend the indefensible and always sides with the right wing agenda. Then claim that you are taking a step back and using a neutral partisan stance when clearly you are a soundbite of fox news.

Seemingly not interested in Everton but interested as an Australian in US right wing politics.

It's sad how we have grown to treat and/or regard human beings who are by and large just trying to make the best of their life, just like the rest of us, purely on the basis of what bit of rock they happened to have been born on. It seems to me that such is the fear that has been whipped up over the past few years, the best Halloween costume for a great many people would be simply someone that looks or sounds different to them.

So is the answer open borders than ?
