I really don't get it mate. Trump is a textbook pathological liar.
The man literally fabricates BS or embellishes facts to make him look good on a daily basis.
And the scary part? Trump probably believes the majority of bile that comes out of mouth!
In general, how could you ever trust someone who is clearly a delusional pathological liar, let alone trusting one to run the biggest country in the world?!?
If you were a Trump supporter, how the hell would you justify this behavior to yourself? Unless you believed it too... Which is even more scarier!

Probably needed. It was a bi-lateral agreement with Russia, which they ignored anyway, and it didn’t include China who were free to develop these short range missiles (tactical nuclear). By pulling out, it now allows the USA to catch up and then pull Russia and China into an arms limitation deal. So perhaps a smart move.....
Why not renegotiate with Russia whilst in the deal, Trump claims he has a great relationship with Putin doesn’t he? And trying to get a joint deal with both Russia and China will be extremely hard, why tear up what progress we have on the hope that Trump can get something better when he appears to be saying he can’t even get Putin to agree now.
I don’t think us re-entering a nuclear arms race is a good idea Pete, unless you are on of those defence companies we were talking about in another thread.

I used to be a senior Director with one of those companies (EVP in your parlance), so I do understand some of the issues. However, I can only assume that Trump has been told by his military advisors that the USA is being disadvantaged with the current arrangement. Sometimes it’s fine to just rip up an agreement and start again. Putin unfortunately is the one who took Russia on its current path of ignoring the agreement, so not much chance of negotiating a path back to normality, as he only understands strength. Throw in the China conundrum and he’s probably right. This is not a Trump gut reaction nor tweet, this is serious policy. We have enough nuclear arms to kill us all anyway, what this is about is short range tactical nuclear to threaten near states and maritime naval forces....
