$420k reimbursement for a $130k outlay that was spread out over a year despite being “petty cash to Trump”...stinks to high heaven.

In a conversation with BuzzFeed News, Giuliani later said that Cohen, Trump's longtime personal lawyer, “had complained to some people” after the 2016 election that he’d not been fully paid by Trump. At some point — Giuliani said he did not know when or where specifically — Cohen met with Trump and told him of his complaint. Giuliani said that Trump told Cohen, “We’ll cover your expenses,” and agreed to pay him $35,000 a month “out of his personal funds” over the course of a year-long period that began in the first few months of 2017 and has since ended.
“It clearly was a payment to reimburse expenses,” Giuliani said — adding the caveat, “I’m almost certain that there wasn’t an itemized bill.”
“This is like petty cash [to Trump],” Giuliani said. In addition to repaying the $130,000, the arrangement gave Cohen “enough left over for him to profit in [2017].” If Trump paid Cohen $35,000 a month for a year, as Giuliani said, that would be a total of $420,000.

It’s absolutely staggering that none of it seems to matter .we’ve just had the Home Secretary resign for being less than honest to a parliamentary committee and the President lies like its breathing and it’s apparently irrelevant, bizarre.

It's because the pattern of behaviour has been established where lying has no repercussions. Indeed, lies are often rewarded - see how Trump gained the Presidency, how Vote Leave won Brexit.
They've figured it out. If there's a benefit to be had from misleading the public, you may as well do it as the worst that will happen is that a few people will cry about it, allowing you to shout "fake news" from people who are biased.
That's the unbelievable irony of this - the liars have been able to call the media liars for calling them out on their lies, and be believed about it, despite it being abundantly obvious that they are indeed lying.
Trump shouldn't be President at this point, but he is, and this - despite by every rationale being an impeachment matter - will be like water off a ducks back for him.
