Donald Trump for President Thread

lol I like that acronym. I am not familiar enough with US main stream media to comment authoritatively, but if the partisan media sit com show I am presently viewing (and finding great comedy therein) is anything to go by, intelligent democracy in USA has little chance.
Do Americans really watch these channels to form informed opinion?
No wonder they got Hillary vs Trump lol lol

Fox News actually had a black person on it yesterday, I was shocked.

It remains a myth though that he's caused some sort of revolution. He didn't get folks to the polls as well as his predecessors. Neither of them did at the end of the day.

Comey is playing a huge role here that helped dissolutioned folks from both sides turning up at the polls for either candidate. Trump was able to get strong support from a frothing at the mouth white voter in the Midwest because of his lies and rhetoric far better than Clinton did with inner city folks in the same areas. The stats don't lie.

Statistically she failed in key urban areas of Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Wisconsin. It's really that simple.

The fact remains that the turnout was far less than previous elections...and the larger left leaning populous of this country will only grow more frustrated by a far right leaning government.
Simple yes, but huge in terms of the election result. Neither of them should have been the candidates but more so her because she didn't win. The Democrats need to completely dissolve themselves of any involvement from the Clinton's and rebuild.

I have now got CNN on for comedy value...is this a serious American MSM outlet?... it's not a satire, a parody?...no wonder USA represents itself as pretty dumb lol.
Haven't tuned into Fox yet...I imagine the laughs will be similar.

USA...leader of the free world? lol

I can't stand President-elect Trump, but CNN's hysterical and partisan reaction to his victory was something to behold.

Perhaps...I am just trying to dispel any myth that his election was some sort of revolution.

Both candidates failed and were hated leaving many to not cast a ballot. Trump though was able to mobilize rural voters with his misogynist and racist rhetoric.

That is the story. Both not liked. Bombastic rhetoric, misogyny, and racism won the day.

I thought NZ main stream news was a bit puerile...but I am genuinely astonished at watching US's equivalent: it is not only puerile, it is unbalanced as all f***.
If America wants to start fixing it's serious issues, it perhaps might lend attention toward its ineptly biased fourth estate .
I suggest the wonder isn't 'how did America get to this inflection point?' Rather, given the quality of their mainstream media 'feed', how didn't it come sooner??

Congratulations on your win.

He's already failed on the promise of building that massive wall that Mexico is gonna pay for.

How ignorant do you have to be to actually believe that was real?

The point is you can turn your initial statement on it's head to form other peoples view of the result.
Ignorance exists on both sides from what I have seen.
