2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

If he’s reaching out it’s because he’s desparate as the options he thought would materialise haven’t - I wouldn’t entertain it personally but extending may free funds up elsewhere

That may be it mate it could be as simple as asset management and PSR.

Keep DCL, 0 in ammortisation.

Sell Beto, book the profit, meet PSR.

Sign a new starting striker.

DCL becomes our B striker, game here and there and he plays a role also minding his body.

While we have the option to flog him.

In the meantime means we have to do less heavy lifting recruiting in the summer.

Keeping him is the clever play.

An otherwise great plan with one tiny flaw.

I think hes a wonderful number 9, but his injury record causes me huge concern.

If he stays I just hope the blinkered can finally open their eyes to what we have.
The extra fees on dozens of St John’s Ambulance people we’ll need at BMD if he stays will push us back into PSR trouble.

The only sensible bit is flogging him.

In the centre circle as half time entertainment Roman-style

I don't care how he trains, I don't care what he dresses up as during his own time, I don't care what his views are in regards to anything. He's paid to be a CF. He bombs almost every single time he's a CF. This is absolute madness to bring him back when a striker doesn't score. He's fine with the other stuff but he's paid to score. The money he is on is insane for a non-scoring forward.

*edit* there's absolutely no logic in giving him a new contract. Like, not even a smidgen of logic.

I just find it utterly incredible that after years of being completely unreliable due to injuries and having an appalling goalscoring record and being utterly incapable of finishing even the most basic of one on ones, that there are still Evertonians who would willingly give this utterly underwhelming striker a new contract at 28. I’ve even seen it suggested that we tie him down so we can get a fee for him despite the blinding current evidence that no one has come in for him at all, despite him being available on a free since January.

One question: if a player with his same injury and goalscoring profile and of the same age was available for a fee from another club, how many people would be wanting to sign him?

Do not give this lad a new contract don’t even think about it. He’s never been fantastic and stalled on what we offered him now it’s one of few offers on the table or the best of a bunch and he’s looking to talk get to f DCL we best move on from these poor players coming to the end here.
