2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

But they couldn’t even draw mate? A draw would’ve done them if Leeds hadn’t won at Brentford too, they only got a last minute winner in that one. The facts are the facts, that Burnley didn’t take care of their own business regardless of our result. We can come up with magical scenarios that might have happened in a parallel universe all day if we want, I’m more interested in what actually happened in real life.
Oh ok, well DCLs goal meant we ensured safety and could play half a squad in the final game instead of still potentially being relegated. The fact is that his goal meant we were not getting relegated.

You can use all the hindsight you want. But in the real life moment, he kept us up. And it was celebrated as such.

Wow, it was that long ago?
Yea makes no sense for him to request it then
He did say Silva was manager at the time, does that fit the timeline?
I'm confused now tbh

I do remember thinking Sandro was going to tear up the league for us and the will he won't he all summer was definitely not worth it!
I thought exactly the same about Sandro mate. How wrong we were.

I've heard rumours that Everton were around for 100+ years before the Premier League started. Not entirely sure it's true, but could possibly be connected to the list he's quoting?
Calvert-Lewin is third on our Premier League list, so it's not that. I don't know why anyone would use an all comps from the Premier League era list, I haven't checked but it's very likely he's third on that as well. I don't know where 14th came from.

Me neither tbf. I guess I wrongly assumed you were gonna say he's third. Apologies. Teach me to be a smart arse

As with Doucs, Farrelly and Horne, their contribution (or lack of) during the season put us in that position in the first place. But some good goals and mad celebrations for sure.

Dom didn't want to or isn't able to because of non football obligations.

Well this is a double edged sword. I've heard more than one person duly note that his injury problems started when he beefed up last time.

On the other hand though, his other obligations can get in the bin, he's a professional athlete who has been paid handsomely.

Assuming any of that is true of course.
