Doing a Leeds

it is worrying, you have to wonder why would we offer this lad the lukaku contract (basically)?
Surely he's not going to be on more than £50-60k a week over there, no more than £75k a week should have been enough for him.
we need to get results to back up the cash were spending

It's been mentioned a few times today by various posters that they're concerned about where we're heading as a club. This has been largely sparked by rumours of the £145k-£150k weekly wage that we are supposedly willing to pay Cenk Tosun.

So, are you concerned that if we're offering those sort of wages (not to mention the transfer fee) for what are unproven players that we could spiral into financial difficulty and have to rapidly sell our assets and tumble out of the Premier League?

The comparisons with Leeds are worrying, it also reminds me of Tony Fernandes coming into QPR and throwing crazy money at loads of average footballers, look where that's got them.

£45m on Sigurdsson is another example of the silly money we've thrown around, vastly overpriced even in todays inflated market.

Do you have genuine concerns?

It’s not quite that level YET

I'd say Moshiri is definitely nearing Tony Fernandes levels of naivety.

Which is incredibly surprising given his and Usmanov's attitude when they were in the background at Arsenal. Maybe they'd have been okay there as a pair with Usmanov's money?

Obviously a few years a go the fees for players weren't as high as they are now but the calibre of players in relation to fee along with wages... the parallels are worrying.

This Cenk Tosun deal is nearing peak idiocy... Lukaku rejects a contract of £140,000 so we're thinking let's give that money to a no mark from Turkey.

Just bizarre.

When the club is desperate and an ugly proposition you have to pay more to get what you need.
The more youth players we can progress the better it will be.

We will easily get 13 points mate.

We will almost certainly get the 13 points all right......but "easily"?

Given we have taken one point from recent encounters with two teams which were in the bottom three I think that is rather a hubristic statement.

This looks like being a crawl toward the 40 Point Trophy, not the triumphal sprint it looked like it might have been before we lined up at t' Hawthorns.

No way like Leeds I'm sure we are financially in good position, everybody is getting carried away with media speculation if tosun signs we will never truly know what his wage is. I'm not really bothered though it's not my money and I do trust the financial guys at the clubto spend within what we can afford.

I would be very hubris about it mate, to be honest. I think we will have it by the end of February with a bit of luck.

I am massively concerned about our recruitment post-Moyes. From the best to the worst in the league.

We are following the template of the brainless clubs - signing players at peak age and peak value at over the top prices.

The only big money transfers we should make should fit the Lukaku profile.

We've spent more on Klaassen, Bolasie, Sigurdsson and Scheniderlin than the RS have on their front 4. They could probably get £350m+ for them whilst we'd be lucky to get £60m back in total for those 4.

I have no confidence that our board and senior officials have the skills , knowledge or acumen to run the club.

I am extremely worried that we are over investing in at best mediocre players that will see no return on or off the pitch

@Bungle 's inclination to poke anything (let alone bears), is not at question here

Listen up Muffew, we're trying to prevent it happening, it's an intervention we're staging here.

With a bit of luck we can halt this before we're in League 1.
