Doing a Leeds

I don't think we are paying anywhere near the wages people claim.

Apparently our wage bill has gone up after selling a load of senior players who we know to have been on big wages like Rom, Cleverly, Barry, McGeady and promoting a lot of kids.

How does that work?

I think it works because we haven't convinced Rooney, Sandro, Klaassen, Keane, Martina, Pickford, Sigurdsson etc to play for free mate.

I'm no expert but I suspect their combined wages would dwarf what we got rid of, hence our wage bill has increased.

I've assumed your comment wasn't sarcasm as you're generally a bit of an arsehole Adversus old chum.

He is spending with a view that it will all eventually be recouped by player sales and new stadium revenue, so actually that is exactly what he is doing.
Nope. Leeds built up debts, Moshiri isn't, but I'm repeating myself. Of course he expects a return on his investment, but that's not the same as Leeds' speculative spending of money they didn't have.

We are building up debts - that money will have to be repaid. If Moshiri calls it all in tomorrow (as it were), do you think we can just say "oh no mate we aren't paying"?

You may be repeating yourself, but it makes you twice wrong. He's not an angel who has given us free money.

Lukaku is a 100m pound player. That's why he could expect 140k a week. This guy is not.

Lukaku the £100m player is rumoured to be on £250k+ a week and this time last season people were saying he couldn’t trap a bag of cement.

Sign of the times mate

Not being funny mate but are you sure it was nothing to do with the fact that Yeung was a crook ?

From what I remember BRUM were struggling before Yeung took over and he just tipped it over for you unfortunately, but I might be wrong.

The issue we have is not finance for once but numptie managers and DOF who spunked a load on rubbish. The only fault I can find with the owner is he hired these clowns in the first place but i reckon that BK has a lot to do with that too.
No mush it was definitely Yeung and our fans. What do you think of your fans?

No mush I would stay as garbage nobodies than have them two back and the witch that follows them about ;)

Hah, thought you might say that. About 10 years ago I played a charity game at St Andrews and went to a post game reception. You were a club who were going between championship and prem then most seasons. I was actually shocked at the state of the dressing rooms and facilities. As for the corporate facilities - a few too many portraits of the dildo brothers knocking around. I got the picture of egotists in it to cash in as much as possible. Hence the lack of infrastructure investment.

I have genuine concerns that we're spending so much on second rate players that are already at their peak.

The investment we made in Lukaku a few years ago was a no brainer because he had proven quality and at such a young age was on an upward trajectory.

Contrast this with the money spent on Gylfi, Bolasie, Schneiderlin, Williams.

I don't get the strategy behind those transfers at all.

I think the strategy is spend big no matter who the player is just to try and make a statement. It stinks of Moshiri wanting to be billy big bollocks and have everyone look at him, just look at who he releases information through to see what an egotistical bell he is.

He might be a clever chap with millions in the bank, but he appears to know absolutely nothing about running a football club, and instead of employing people that could do that for him he has kept in place those that have run it terribly for decades.

Unless that changes we're going nowhere, and I mean that quite literally as well because if he conducts the stadium move business in the same way as other on and off field business so far then we don't stand a chance of getting a new home. All he has done is put people that should have been sacked in more prominent positions within the club and hired a bunch of goons to take care of player recruitment and managerial duties.

Hope it’s a lesson for all as I would hate to see it happen to Everton mush. Not a grand old club like you. Them pesky fans need a smack in the chops though.

We are just continuing our glacier like decline from the early 90's...hardly a Leeds....
Make no mistake , we are getting close to the cliff edge , but our situation has much more to do with the way we've been run for decades than the most recent transfer window/manager. When you give it an honest look , it is quite shocking that we haven't dropped earlier !

Hoping Sam can give us the stability to avoid relegation this year ....then will be the process of a massive squad turnover / new manager and hopefully maintain our mid table standing. Think we are in for a long / uncertain couple of seasons.

So you don't think the players I listed have more status in the game and therefore can demand higher wages.

You listed Martina ffs who was Southampton' 3rd choice.

Apart from Rooney and maybe Sigurdsson I can't see any who should be on big money. Even Pickford is still just a kid.
