If our form was mediocre going into yesterday’s game the doom, gloom and fume would be so much less. Its annoying me big time. Before the season started if you said to a blue we’d br six games in top of the table and then showed them some of the posts from this weekend you would not believe it.

It's all so simple really, we are top of the league because of our results and those of other teams. So it does not flatter us.

We all know we cannot win the league (yet) but there is every hope for a European place and maybe a cup. Our first XI is pretty damn good, our support players go from average to worse. It will take 3 years of Carlo to become a real contender as crap contracts expire and we acquire better quality squad players, or new better players and older ones rotate to fill the gaps.

We all know it, we all enjoyed and are enjoying the moment. Still near the top in April, a different story, but right now just bask in the improvement.

Limp along until January. Replace Iwobi, the Ghost and source a top right back and we are back to a decent 11 with a certain level of limited depth. And this should see us through in a season of no European football to an outside chance of top 4. IMHO.

Sounds like the owner needs to chip in another £100 million which I reckon he did this summer.

I much prefer the actual table, the one where we're top and they're not.

Obviously, Everton aren't really the best team in the league, but there are enough points being dropped across the board each week to make a case for Europe looking like a genuine possibility.

The squad is already looking threadbare, though, which is a worry when we're only six games in.

We were excellent in our first 4 league games. The last 2 have been disappointing but hopefully we'll get back on track against Newcastle.
