Tbh if Howe keeps them up it would be harsh to get rid of him but you just know they would kill to have a Jose there or someone of that ilk
I might have it all wrong but I assumed one of the main reasons Newcastle went for Howe rather than a bigger name was because they accepted going down was a distinct possibility and felt he’d be a decent bet to get them back up if it happened.

Disastrous move for Mr. Ashworth surely; they'll go down under Howe, bring in Benitez to replace him, and we know just how well Directors of Football get on with Rafael Benitez
I can see Benitez going back there, especially if they go down. Benitez must be a bit annoyed now if we had sacked him earlier I reckon he would be back at Newcastle now.

No one else wanted it

Very evident in their January signings as well. Guimares is a good player but the rest seem to be "hedging your bets" signings.

We won’t tell
We will swear a pinky promise
Go on , spill the dirt ????
We've been a shambles for a long time to be honest mate. The FA cup win (as brilliant as it was) has masked over what has been a massive decline in results and performances. The thing that really irks me with Rodgers is his lack of self accountability. And now he's thrown the players under the bus. Maybe the signs of a desperate man?

There are new owners at Newcastle now, I don't think RB is as likely to get the job from them as possibly he would from Ashley.
