Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.......

i think we should stop spending more than 10mil on players, its obviously working better when we spend 5mil or less and we need the numbers. i just think 2 players would of been better than 1 in bily`s case.

Im sure that's what all the top clubs say...

Bily was [Poor language removed] last night but so were everyone else. The midfield in the 1st half was a mess, no one know where they were playing. The fact Bily's Russian he probably just got lost.

He needs bedding and needs to be in that position for a string of games.

Once he cracks it he'll be class.

Bily was the worst of a bad bunch last night. It was the closest I've come to doubting that he'll eventually be a top player for us.

Does seem a little...timid I suppose would be the word, at times when we can't afford any passengers.

I'm now of the view that the team went on a binge after the Man Utd victory and were in no shape for the flight to Portugal, much less playing a game there. And Bily just happened to be the worst of a bad lot on the night... Not that any of this diminishes the fact that the tactics were disgustingly cowardly.

They were all particularly awful, I'm surprised Bily is pointed out more than most.

Pienaar? Arteta? Saha? Donovan?

Watched the game and he had a dead set SHOCKER. Couldn't pass, run, and lost the ball every time he had possession.

Straight swap for Rodwell at half time, me.

i cant blame bily alone. i thought most of our midfeild were lost and completely flat.

at times the whole midfeild seemed unsure who should be picking up who , especially on the wings.
sporting put us under so much pressure in these areas we were mostly on the back foot and couldnt get our game going.

imo ..all 3 of pienaar donovan and bily didnt produce anything nere there best standard and this is why we lost.

im just hoping they rectify this rather gutting 'blip' against spurs.

agreed but i dont expect much from him at the mo while he is coming back from a year out. in fairness i think he has been better than i expected.

also when sporting got there second , i thought he was the only attacking player of ours who actually raised his game and looked like he was doing all he could to get 1 back and force exrta time.everyone else looks dejected despite there still being a chance.

Well I expect more than I am seeing, even though it is quite early.

He certainly wasn't impressive yesterday but since his return, he's played well and our results and performances point to that. There can't be alot of expectation with Arteta, it would be unfair on the lad, even now he's way ahead of schedule.

Well for me he's playing too deep to make any kind of impact. Glad to see him back, but not putting much stock in him being anything like the Arteta of old.

Thankfully more people are stepping up for set-pieces.

Probably because of his lack of fitness and the fact that's he's playing alongside Leon Osman, who likes to get forward.

We won't see the Arteta of old until next season, agreed.
