Still feel this is the case. Peak Baines was world class. Digne can still improve, but he's getting there. Doubt he'll still be with us when he get there though.

Baines in his prime with Pienaar ahead of him was better than Digne will ever be. Maybe because he will never have a connection with a left winger like Baines had with Pienaar, who knows, but he will never reach that level for us in my opinion.

baines was more intelligent, better at crossing, penalties, the free kicks are the same.

It's a shame as we forget how good players were just because they are old. Baines had the same energy levels as Robertson and was a couple of levels better.

When pienaar left for spurs, baines somehow managed to play even better. He was the best lb on the planet for those 18 months.
