I am afraid ther are lower leaguge players who can offer what he did for us - ran himself into the ground, but no skill what so ever!

Nah rubbish that. He had a fair amount of ability. Rarely gave the ball away and was intelligent with his flick ons and movement. Just because he wasnt flash and a bit weird looking doesnt mean he didnt have ability.

To be honest, one thing that he did give to us was the ability to slow the ball from coming back at our back four. He would chase it like a madman, stopping them from just playing the ball out, and could gain us the extra 2-3 seconds we regularly need in oredr to get our defence that 20 yards forward when under pressure. He wasn't the most skilfull, we all agree on that, but, IMO, he was far from ****e, even though he couldn't do it all, what he could do, he did well. The main thing he was missing as a forward, is any kind of raw pace/acceleration, and while he was here, there wasn't realy anybody else in the team who could make up for it.

I'd rather have him than Anichebe

My exact thoughts as well.

Stracq's pure endeavour is worth more than Anichebe's sullen attitude over the course of a season. Yes, Anichebe does well off the bench sometimes and occasionally looks decent, but he's the most inconsistent player I've possible ever seen and is a complete sicknote as well.

Saying that, I'd rather have a more competent all round striker rather than either of them!

Come on lads, he was crap. Go back and watch his goal against Chelsea, he's through on goal and his shot ends up almost being straight at Cech.

There are plenty of lower league players from this country who could do the same job.

Anichebe, 9 in 24 apps.
Denis, 3 in 27 apps.

I know who i'd rather have !

It's quite funny - the reason he scores that goal is because Cech expects the shot to go across him, which is what pretty much any competent striker would have done. Cech's face literally screams, "WTF, he's went for the near post??!"

Stracq's all round game contributed much more to the team than Anichebe does. He was a defensive forward in that he chased things down, so I'd rather have him in to come on and protect a lead.

Anichebe barely ever breaks into a run, or when he does he falls over and starts moaning.

Apparently San Lorenzo have won the league and he scored the winner to clinch it!

Me mate in work has just told me this so not sure if it's true but I hope so. I love the big divie.
