Absolutely no f**kin way he's worse than our current midfield.

Can't be any worse than the current lot.

Trend on GrandOldTeam: Everton get beat. Posts pile onto threads for players who are out of favour about how they can't possibly be worse.

Here's the problem - he is worse. He was dragged off at half time in most of his appearances because the games totally passed him by.

Getting battered by Arsenal won't change that.

Worse than Schneiderlin ?

Right OK.

Most of all 4 appearances? How many games have to pass Schneiderlin or Gueye or Bolasie by before they are dropped? More than 4 games have passed Davies by this season yet he came on and showed what he can do when the pressure was off. When Davy going to get his chance in a similar situation???

I wonder why though?

I've seen him at Goodison every time he's played and can only put it down to the speed and physicality of the games. He has a nice touch, but he's slow and lacking in strength. He was bullied off the ball more or less every time he picked it up and, honestly, it made his place in the team untenable.

Mate, Klaassen isn't a DM. If we put him in that position, he would be 10 times worse than Schneiderlin (if that is even possible), owing to the fact that he'd be out of position, has no strength and can't tackle.

You can only compare him to players who occupy the same/similar roles - he's some distance off the players who make up our CM/AM roles at the moment, hard though that is to accept.

I get what you are saying in that he wasn't brought in as a DM, but midfielders should be able to play in whatever any area of the midfield they are required to. Think of the likes of Arteta, Barkley, and now Rooney dropping back into a more defensive position when needed.

Schneiderlin doesn't even bother trying to close opponents down anymore. Surely its worth a try to see if Klaassen can do any better ?

Probably hypothetical anyway as SA tried to ship him out during the window.
