He is neat and tidy. I think there is a player in there he just needs to come out of his shell a bit. It probably doesn't help that he knows he will be getting subbed regardless in the second half.

I thought he started fairly well today but then disappeared somewhat. Then again we did play loads o the first half with only 10 men.
That was infuriating. We finally start getting into a rhythym and we had to defend for probably 7-8 minutes.

Altidore? That was like 4 years ago, man.
Which would fall under the scope of recent.

Now if I heard mentioned someone like Alfonso Alves or Mateja Kezman, that would not be recent.

Luuk de Jong is another one. Although he had a failed stint in Germany between the Eredivisie and the EPL.

Okay he hasn't exactly been ripping it up so far, but i won't write him off yet.God Peter Reid wouldn't have lasted 5 seconds with some people on here, in his very early Everton days. They would have dismissed him as a flop and binned him.lol

Still convinced there's something there, not all players hit the ground running but you can still see some raw qualities they possess and that's the case here I feel. He looks very composed on the ball and is quick to spot a pass, that's a valuable player to have in the engine room of your midfield. Just needs time to adjust and find his feet, right now he's struggling to form an understanding with his teammates around him because things like that take time to develop unless you've been at the club a while. I would start Davies going forward and play Klaassen predominantly in the cups and Europe rather than vice versa, it will be easier for him to bed in that way plus Tom looks more than ready to be playing top level every week.

It's not fair at all to write him off yet.

Ajax are the team i watch the most outside of Everton.I can't put into words how highly Ajax fans think of him.I think just like Evertonians Ajax fans know a good player when they see one.Of course the difference in quality between the Eredivsie and Premier League is huge.He doesn't have the same space to do things that he was used to in Holland, and then there is the speed physicality and intensity of the Premier League.I think coming from playing in a poor league like the Eredivisie it's a massive culture shock, and throw in people berating him on top of that.C'mon let's give the guy a chance.
