I wasn't suggesting Bill has a role in team selection but clearly he does in signings hence Koeman being on vacation golfing in Portugal in the last week of the window. However I would still maintain that Rooney aged 31 is not in the mold of a Koeman Walsh signing and smacks of the theatrical great narrative Bill loves.

I agree he was all over him once it became possible but my reading of how events unfolded in the press would suggest that it wasn't a key target that Koeman had in his summer spending plans. I recognize that's just my opinion on this forum and appreciate i could well be 100% wrong too!

This could have been something of a disastrous signing in previous years, but the beauty of the Europa is that it will give Koeman an opportunity to keep playing Klaassen while he finds his feet in the Premier League.

Same goes for Ramirez. Neither of them really needs to be starting league games for the time being.

Honestly mein frandelino he will never make it at Everton. I've seen all sorts of guff about his 'football intelligence' today - I couldn't care less whether he could lose a spelling contest to Ross Barkley or solve the Yang–Mills and Mass Gap, I just want him to look like a Premier League level footballer.
