David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

With all due respect to the entire Everton backline, Unsworth has three centre backs in Williams Jagielka and Keane with Baines as his only left back and I honestly believe no manager would be able to do much to stop shipping goals...it's going to be a massive struggle till January...

To be fair, you can throw the right back into that too. Kenny had a decent game on Saturday but anyone opposition teams will be very much targeting him on a weekly basis.

Dead random, but apparently he walked up to the first team squad with the u23 trophy proclaiming 'look what I've won' prior to his appointment.

We're unbeaten in our last two matches. The rot has to stop at some point and this may be the start of that, I don't know. But we had people moaning when we were getting beat week in week out, now they are moaning after a home win and an away draw. They were saying things like "We need that bit of luck..." Now they say "We were crap, we just got lucky...".

A few weeks back we were crying out for a win, anything but another defeat. Now the football is not pretty enough. We are not going to be playing games in the style of the 1970s Brazil team; it's going to take some ugly, blood and guts, football at times. The needed points will be picked up, mostly, with us scraping and scrapping through games rather than with finesse. The team needs to do what they need to do, to get to be where they need to be.

David Unsworth will not get the job (IMHO), but I can see him being in charge for the rest of the Month. That's what? Three more games? That'll give the new guy the whole of December to get to know his players and to see exactly the type player he needs to buy in January.

There's a lot of games in December, leaving it until then would be risky, especially when we've got two games which are basically friendlies coming up.

Just noticed this. Think it's seven League games, which include Liverpool and Chelsea, with a Europa thrown in for good measure. It might just need it's own 'Our Next Eight Games' December fixtures thread :D
