David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

Made up for him today but let's be honest we needed a rub of the green to get that result. I've seen nothing to convince me he should become our permanent manager. His treatment of Vlasic who has been impressive from day one, confirms to me he is definitely not the man for the job.

I think he’s trying different things. Bottom line is I’m not thrilled with our options at the moment and I’d like to him given a chance until at least the end of the year

This. And rightly so. There’s nothing that’s actually worked yet. He’d be an idiot to just pick the same players in the same formation every week even though we lose all the time.

..I posted before the Leicester game that they would likely score 2 goals and somebody said similar ahead of yesterday.we managed to get 3 against Watford, 2 via set pieces and one through Niasse chasing a lost cause. We won’t get those goals every week but we look like conceding. Until we shore up the defence we will struggle.

The couple of chances we created yesterday (Baines and Sigurdsson) were from rare occasions we got behind their back four. It’s not rocket science that this is how teams create yet we rarely do it. Yesterday’s result was great but i’m afraid the formation is still lacking.

The other thing is that Unsworth appears to have fallen out with a number of players, Schneiderlin, Mirallas and perhaps Vlasic. This might be construed as a required firmness but we really need everybody on board. An unhappy workplace means an inefficient workplace in any walk of life.

Schneids and Vlasic should be given the benefit of the doubt, but Mirallas is the sort of bloke who makes you understand why his country has been subjected to foreign rule for almost all its existence.

...undeniable good player that he is, I was surprised he was offered contract extension given his attitude and time he spends on the sidelines.
