Sleeping rough tonight for charity great stuff Unsy!
Sleeping rough? He’s sleeping in a top-of-the-range sleeping bag with about 250 people in the secure Goodison Park, probably having a bit of a laugh.

Let’s not make out that Unsworth is some kind of God. The good PR driven for him to get this job full-time is bordering on nauseating. He had his audition and flopped, massively.

The real homeless are getting beaten to death, literally down the road from Goodison.

They raised £7k last year. One of them U-23 players, who’ll probably not make it to the first team, make more than that in the week.

Makes a bit of a mockery of the homelessness crisis this city has, tbh. Bunch of rich kids having a sleepover.

I have to say I tend to agree with this.

should open up goodison to the real homeless people so they can sleep in relative safety.

Where you down there to support them no so just give praise where its due - Koeman was in a golf bunker somewhere!

I understand where you're coming from. But at the end of the day the homeless situation in this city is neither the fault or the responsibility of Everton FC.

Our football club has many faults, but one of the true positives is what it does for the community through EITC. Whatever we do for charity it's not enough and never will be. Charities always need more. But our club does more than any other football club and I think I read somewhere that it is also now the largest Merseyside based charity. It's something that should be applauded, not dismissed as some sort of publicity stunt.

As for Unsworth himself, you may not want him to be installed as our next manager, I would imagine very few of us do other than as a temporary measure. But to accuse him of doing this purely as a PR exercise to help him get the job is way of the mark and quite possibly offensive. He did the same thing last year when he didn't have anything to prove to anybody.

How do you know what charities I do and do not give my money to?

I honestly don’t see what there is to praise. A bunch of rich kids and a millionaire manager asking regular folk to donate their money.

I read on Twitter that they were all eating bacon and sausage butties this morning. I’m sure a homeless person would love that luxury!

Makes an absolute mockery of the issue and screams ‘Look at us, look at us!’

Rock and a hard place re: publicity imho. There is a very good argument for doing such things quietly and selflessly to gain no recognition. However without publicity you do not always raise the profile of such matters and potentially get other people involved.

Tricky one.
