It's raising awareness of a major issue, the money raised from last year plus other events has led to a house being purchased to house the homeless which Unsy has said will be ready by Christmas, not many clubs would even dare risk the health of their young players or fans by asking them to do stuff like this
 
Even if they're loaded, I'm still glad they're doing it. And no, I do not think Unsworth is doing it in the hope he'll get the job, since he did it last year. Koeman didn't do the sleepout, neither did Martinez, and neither did any of the first team. It's a U23s thing only, seemingly.

State of our fans slagging Unsworth off for doing the sleepout, honestly. I suppose it would be better if he kept bragging about all the swanky restaurants and golf holidays he went to instead? Also, there were fans doing it as well. I wish I didn't have ME, otherwise I'd do it.

I really hope he doesn't get the job.

I’ve just watched a video on the clhb’s Facebook of Unsworth saying that what they did last night was amazing and they should be really proud of themselves.

It’s condescension at its finest.

For the record, I also thought the same last year when they risked their lives sleeping in that cold stadium with food and water when they wanted it.

I want him to do really well because I’m an Evertonian, because I like the bloke and just because really . That doesn’t mean that I think he will do well though but within reason I’ll be supportive both in person at the match and online . Being an Evertonian doesn’t however give him a free pass.

You do realise the players volunteered to do it right? When they could have easily been arrogant and said no, same for the fans who done it on their own accord when they didn't have to. And Unsy himself kept his promise to do it. These people are those that give a damn about wanting to raise money and awareness for those in need, not being cynical, gutless cowards like yourself. Pisses me off when idiots find faults in good deeds, it really does

We live in a society where everything is plastered over social media. PR is everything.

In no way is camping out at Goodison raising awareness of homelessness. How about them actually proactively doing something, like Steven Naismith?

I give a % of my monthly wage to a charity. I don’t feel the need to applaud myself for doing it.

If I was a homeless person and heard that a bunch of rich kids and their manager were camping out for ONE night with hot food and water and claiming that they should be really proud of themselves for doing so, I’d laugh at their ignorance.

The club should get on with being an actual football club, instead of giving themselves a pat on the back at every turn.

Are you seriously that stupid that you ignored my earlier post saying the money raised has bought a house to give shelter to homeless people by Christmas, finding it seriously disgusting that you are slating a group of down to earth young lads, giving up their time for charitable reasons just because they are footballers. In fact I'll challenge you right now to join them in doing it next year, but you'll probably bottle it

No, I’m not stupid. Can’t you get into a debate without resorting to insults, pal?

They raised £7k last year. That’s bought them a house? It’s nice of that bunch of rich down to earth lads asking the poorest fan base in the Premier League to dig into their pockets, isn’t it? Some of them down to earth lads are on around £10k p/w.

You’re right, I’d definitely bottle sleeping in a secure stadium. They might not have brown sauce to go on my sausage butty there, don’t know how I’d cope, tbh. Or say if they only use full fat milk with the cups of tea/coffee?
