David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

I just dont understand why he wasn't in anyway shape or form trying to motivate the players, the only time he stood up was at the end of the first half when we scored.

He was so unmotivated or unmoved that we where playing diabolical he just sat there... I was a bit embarrassed to watch it to be honest, he had zero control over the events and the players.

Its unfortunate cos I really like the man and he speaks so well about the club, this whole thing needs resolving now.

Feel for the guy, been left with a shocking squad of shithouses after a terrible summer, and been hung out to dry by the incompetent bells who run our club. He knows it needs sorting for the good of the club, and yet still, complete silence.

I’ve slept on it Everton, and if anything I’m more enraged at your ineptitude than I was yesterday.

Judge the man on his record in the top flight and Europe, removing the sentiment of how he's a blue etc, and it's not good enough. The defence is worse now than under fat head.

Well get relegated if he stays in charge
It was a temporary appointment with his view if he did well he would like the job FIVE weeks and our board have not come near to naming a new manager - who ever comes in will have the same problem the squad is the same untill January - I hope they can polish a third quicker than Unsy!

Nah, much of it is his fault. This is not a squad that should be in the relegation zone and it's up to the manager to make it so. Stepping up from managing U23s to managing the first team is like coming from a League 2 side to managing PL. The opponents are tougher, the scrutiny is harsher, the pressure is greater, the egos are bigger. It takes a very special talent to step up from u23 to first team and I'm afraid Rhino, good bloke as he is, isn't that.
Koeman got this squad together we could not get a shot on target - short memory?

This. You'd think they'd want to win games and stay in the EPL, but they just do not give a toss.

And honestly, I would never want to do Unsworth's job, no matter how much money he's on. If I was Everton's manager, I'd either be sectioned or dead.

I guess you weren't that arsed when Lennon had to be sectioned. I mean, he's got money, that'll make all his mental health problems magically go away, right? I mean it did for Gary Speed...oh, wait.

Millwall, Liverpool and Swansea?

Goodisonopheliac - Sorry turned in, totally dispirited by all things Everton at the moment. Thought your comment deserved a reply as it was a little unfair. People in all walks of life face those issues and those of us fortunate enough not to have to cope with them should consider ourselves very lucky. Probably most of us have experienced the issues you refer to through others that we know or family at some point. The difference is that footballers have an incredible support network behind the scenes and particularly through the PFA that many of us do not, apart from family and friends, NHS etc. Gazza, Lennon, Carlisle all deserve help, but I reckon they will have access to a professional support network that many of us would not. Speed I think was under the radar of most and it is very sad what happened to him. For the record I once saw Aaron Lennon hand over a£50 note to a homeless man in Mayfair outside a fancy hotel without batting an eyelid. He clearly knew how fortunate he was compared to others. Sorry if you think me a little hard-hearted but I was referring to an interim football manager and whether we should feel sorry for him based on his stewardship during 1/2 a dozen Everton performances/results, not a football manager as far as I know, suffering from mental health issues.

He's probably got a template of what he wants but the players have got to buy into it and execute his philosophy. They clearly don't and haven't. My biggest criticism of him though is not trying to play a settled team just to attempt some continuity. This constant changing isn't helping and he should have nameda side for Atlanta with the idea of it been preparation for Southampton. Not treat it as a dead rubber.
