2025/26 David Moyes

It changes the mentality though - like for example how Moyes left all those years ago and Martinez instantly made the exact same squad perform WELL better.

It did fall apart for Boberto quickly due to his own stubbornness, but we don't have to pretend that his first season wasn't an instant change for us, after a decade of "knife to a gunfight".

Brighton dropped £250m in one transfer window last season, iriola has spent £400m+ at Bournemouth and brentford have spent near enough 300m in the last 3 years.

A decent striker costs 70m now. What Everton consider buge amounts of money and what the PL considers a huge amount of money to spend in a season are two very different things.
Bournemouth have negative net spend overall with Iraola. Sure they spent a fair bit initially but sold big last summer and he's still got them performing.

The huge investment in players we can ill afford to leave on the bench and getting dumped out of both cups round 1 should be enough for a polite parting of the ways end of season.

No more of the Kenright sentiment in keeping ‘one of our own’ codology. He was hired to do a specific salvation job which he did. Thank you, next.

Yeah it was solely down to Lukaku, not the fact we actually attacked a lot more and looked like we have an idea other than "cross it in the box".

Alternatively, Lukaku doesn't join us and even if he does isn't as good for Moyes, and you know it - he was there to score goals, not run the channels for 90 min and hold off players.
Do you think Lukaku joined us because of an ex Wigan manager?

in quotes.
I don't have the time or patience for your incessant mini-davek impression here (in fact, it's weird he's not here to lick Martinez' arse, given the topic/thread), sorry mate.

We scored more goals, we conceded less goals, we played better football, none of those join us for Moyes, and even if by some long shot they do - they'd never play. Barkley made 1 mistake and was shipped out on loan the same day so he's in the lower leagues, Deulofeu at the time was 19 so he won't play (and Moyes wouldn't go for him anyway), Lukaku definitely doesn't join as we suit nothing about how he plays with Moyes as he can't get a tune out of forwards like him, Barry maybe joins but he's backup left back obviously, and so on.

I can't wait for the evidence to the contrary to be "but he played Rooney and Vaughan", while we have a 40m player playing once a month for 10 minutes this year, as proof he'd play Deulofeu.
