2025/26 David Moyes

There’s a difference when one manager is failing and the other isn’t. Only you would have to have this explained so literally to you.

Everton were literally drowning at sea, the only bloke who could be bothered to get out in a life raft came along and dragged us out of the water and you wanted to kick him off the life raft just as the rescue boat was in sight because he didn’t have any caviar on him. Then you come out and start lecturing fans on a toxic divide in the fanbase without a hint of self awareness. It’s truly staggering.

You're not reading what I'm saying, you're reading what you want to read.

Again, I was in the very clear minority in not rating our recruitment in the summer. The posts are there. May, right until the window closed.

So for clarity - I'm not saying we recruited well.

We lack balance, pace, and a striker. I'd banged on loads that I'd have kept Calvert-Lewin, and signed pace out wide and full backs as a priority.

But nevertheless, the debate was in relation to comparisons to Everton's previous squads - which were awful.

  • Last summer we spent a club record amount.

  • Last summer we spent more than the previous 7 years combined. Thats without Grealish factored in, or a £17m obligation for Rohl.

There isn't a single player you'd both tell me who left in the summer we should have kept, and and considering this season we've been able to play Grealish instead of the likes of Harrison or Gray, or Dewsbury-Hall instead of Doucoure - then yes, of course as a squad we've improved. We're not gone backwards, unless you want to tell me the players we lost who we're missing.

Please accept my apology in respect of my comment.

Yes. Once again, thank you David Moyes.

This kind of hyperbole statement just isn't true and isn't actually helpful because there are genuinely people out there who believe no one could have done what Moyes did, yes there is, there's probably even people who might have done better, he did a good job, and he deserves praise for it but let's stop this cult forming around managers just because they have done what is expected of them.

People did this ridiculous thing with dyche too,

Moyes is a good manager, he's done ok with us, there are also better managers than him that would likely come to Everton.

I don't want him sacked but let's not pretend he's the be all and end all.

Sorry was talking about Mike wanting Dyche sacked whilst the club were almost not paying wages the cash position was so bad, then turns around and says there’s a toxic split in the fanbase because some would like to see some improvement from Moyes

Absolutely crying that you actually did assume he was on about Moyes with the life raft analogy
