2025/26 David Moyes

You would have to admire the chutzpah of the man if he jibbed us off for the Man Utd job twice. Just to get sacked there within a year for the second time.
Dont put it past him . These next few years are his golden year's within his career . As sad as it is to say hes still more likely to win a trophy there than here . Could help " oversea" their stadium rebuild and steady the ship .

We had the CEO of this club telling the world that his target was to see the club hitting a norm of 1 successful player purchased out of every 3.

Unbeleivable. I couldn't believe my ears when he said that.

That sort of acceptance off failure is unacceptable, and should be if you're the owners.

We have to have people in charge of the club who own it and run it who have an utterly killer attitude toward failure and end quickly anyone's tenure if they dont make use of the resources we have and anyone who thinks we can 'incrementally' do better each season as a way of serving up slop and / or mediocrity and making it seem 'acceptable'.

We're miles off being an organisation like that.

We should get top ten. If not the owners need to step in here and start tearing up contracts.

We're supposed to be on the move again but we've sputtered to a juddering halt.
Because he didn't say that you massive fibber.

He said he was aiming for the signings to play over 50% of the matches in order to deem them a success and that typically only 30% of all signings across the league achieve that figure.

Sir Jim'll Brexit For You has nothing but contempt for the Moyesiah. More chance of him turning up at Anfield to replace Slot. Now that would be chutzpah.
I was only messing. There's no way they'd have him back there, the fans loathe him, it would immediately be maximum toxicity. I maintain it would be funny, however, for loads of reasons!

The likes of Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford imo. They also have the advantage of less pressure from fans to ride out difficult periods without the bedsheets coming out.
There's a reason they are more stable James - they are able to sell their best players season-after-season, change managers regularly yet still perform, whereas we lose a few players to injury and capitulate. The reason they are 'stable' is because they 100% back their model which typically has a well-respected Director of Football who initiates and manages the long term plan irrespective of the manager or players they have and seemingly with a much lower spend than others. Their recruitment model's are incredibly good - they have the ability to identify emerging talent before it becomes excessively priced, which they then nurture for a season or two before selling at very high profit margins - and they have the foresight to have their replacements identified and signed prior to it. They hire progressive managers, and allow/encourage those manager's to regularly play new players irrespective of age and with zero experience of the Premier League.

Admittedly, there appears less pressure on them than there is at Everton, but could you honestly imagine us hiring Iraola, Andrews or Hurzoeler before they hit this league like these three clubs have, or committing to putting faith in their data-based approach to finding gems like Caecedo, Mitzuma, Thiago, MBuemo, Wissa, Semenyo etc?

If the model is flawed, or you don't have a model then how do you get sustainable improvement? Our model has appeared to be hire a 'tried and trusted' old school manager ( Moyes, Allardyce, Benitez, Scotch Egg) as we've panicked after having a good one leave (Carlo) or be sacked (Silva...and possibly Lampard).

I think that's why "the bedsheets come out" more often at Everton.
