2025/26 David Moyes

When we were in an earlier slump I felt if he wasn't able to beat Fulham he needed to go, fortunately he won that match and against United demonstrating how narratives are constantly reconstructed through actions. Moyes' overly cautious and rigid approach this season has left irked numerous times , although I am willing to extend him credit when he can implement changes like in the Fulham match, another major issue of mine has been his mentality which became evident with his comments during the Newcastle match. At the same time he was able to attain two notable wins away at old Trafford where he's never one before and bournemouth away which we've never won as a club and they were undefeated this season. He frustrates me regularly but he is a solid manager and if he is able to start building off the positives he could provide a second half of the season like the previous one.

According to a recent article provided by Paddy Boyland for the athletic (he's pretty well sourced ) while delving into possible transfer activity in Jan, paddy also described the transfer committee setup that now exists instead of a DOF. Supposedly Moyes has final say on transfers even though he's participating in a collaborative process
Yes, obviously he has final say.

But if the options available to us are all not great then that's what he has to choose from. Obviously they aren't his first choice but then you have Muppets here acting like he was the driving force behind us wanting Barry or Dibling.

He wanted a winger and a striker with a younger profile and these lads were the best options the recruitment team put in front of him that would sign for us.

Some of you act like he turned down signing Woltemade for Barry as if it wasn't the other way around.

How do we get better players wanting to sign for us? By finishing higher up the league. If he has to play certain players over your favourites to do that then that's the job.

He also wanted to pay 40mil for Ramsey and wanted soucek.

It was obvious Dibling and Barry weren’t first choice. The Portuguese player who
Ended up at Juve was first choice apparently, then it was kubo, forfana. So basically came
Down to hutcinson and Dibling and the club didn’t think Hutchinson was worth what Ipswich wanted.
Delap was first choice striker by the looks of it

This is why the "Moyes signed off on these players" isn't the stick to beat him with that some think it is.

It's massively obvious these lads were far down the list of options and that's honestly on the recruitment team for not providing or identifying better options.

Probably a bit harsh on
Everyone, as you hear that teams are planning their recruitment over 12 months and the team had only been together a few months and the two we brought in from city and Utd, didn’t join the club till after the window closed

No, it just makes it harder if we finish lower down the league.
Sunderland was recently promoted brought in 14 players and was able to recruit savvily , is that a anomaly? absolutely but it shows that even teams that don't have European football can make clever investments in the squad. Obviously the season is still ongoing and there could be dips in Sunderland's form , at this point it's evident that they have recruited well.
