2025/26 David Moyes

I don't think I agree that this very fair.

You need to remember where we were when Moyes came in. We were potentially heading towards the championship, and that is the base point you need to judge him against.

To say that someone who takes over a team fighting relegation, and doesn't qualify for Europe the next season has failed, is quite frankly, ridiculous.

I agree with you that Moyes has to make a choice over whether to prioritise results or squad development (every manager in the world has that decision to make), but to say that qualifying for Europe in his first full season is the line between success and failure? Nah, I'm not having that.
Look I get it, it’s big leap. But he’s quite literally developing nothing. He’s playing the same system he played 15 years ago. He’s playing one young player, Garner, in the position he’s most suited to. Two if you count Barry who has only recently been given regular starts.

I think you also have to remember Sean Dyche is really bad. The talent was never as bad as it looked. Some of what Moyes is doing is just basic competence, which is nice, but doesn’t mean he needs more time.
