2025/26 David Moyes

Playing two slow centre backs is a conscious choice though, given JOB is quicker than Branthwaite.
Yes you're right. It's a conscious choice by the manager. The deeper you defend the more secure in theory you should be defensively hence why a risk adverse manager like Moyes prefers it. The problem is if you're defending deep you need an outlet on the counter attack and since we haven't got any true pace on the counter we just become aimless with the hoofs up to the target man. Another thing that grinds my gears is having everyone back defending corners so you are allowing yourself to get pinned back without an out ball if you manage to clear the corner

Mentality isn’t it! He just can’t shake it off.

He’s still just happy to be here.

Good job for Sunderland that they haven’t got a manager with the same mentality.

I’m not anti Moyes and he’s done a good job stabilising, but he needs to cut this nonsense “little us” attitude out.

It's all he knows isn't it? Self preservation and cowardice.

Yes.

He needs to start getting some consistency in results and performances.

No idea what we are going to get from one half of football to the next.
Think what are seeing though is what Moyes is, he will never lose 5 on the bounce or win 5 on the bounce
Hi career is littered with LLWDLDDWLLDWWDLDLDWDSLWDLWDLLLDDDW form

I really find these disgraceful comments tbh, no Everton manager should be coming out with such [Poor language removed] and if they do they shouldn’t be in a job much longer. Horrible mentality
Absolutely. He should be telling our players they're better than what's in front of them every game, and making sure the effort and concentration levels are where they need to be.

Instead he goes belittling the squad with stupid comments. Get out.

Didn't want him nothing has changed my mind, he will keep us safe but that's it, go get Fabregas before one of the big boys do.

Dont think we can do it now but i'd try and get him to sign to start in the summer.

I wouldnt tell Moyes either. Give him the Man Utd reverso.

He’s managing us in the same way he did first time round when we had to sell all our best players and had a 50p transfer budget.
He apparently has the final say on signings so needs to justify a £35m signing we chased all summer sitting on the bench, a striker for £20m+ who can’t score, a central midfielder he waxes lyrical about who is never fit, and a young left back for £9m who has played 0 minutes.
Can’t imagine the Friedkins will be at all happy with these type of comments.

Dibling: £35mil rising to £40mil barely used
Barry: £27.5mil to £32.5mil not adapted yet
KDH: £25mil to £30mil being used as a 10
Rohl: £17.5mil permacrock
Grealish: £15mil has flatlined
Alcaraz: £12mil misused every time
Aznou: £8mil never used
Travers: £4mil for dross
King: Pointless

Disgraceful

just really poor from him today that quote is ways to say it better. Also the bench today we had nothing to change the game, is nothing different.

That's the problem nothing on bench to change things been like that for ten years plus can't blame manager for that just the shambolic running of club.

Nothing on the bench?

Aznou, Alcaraz & Dibling are 3 of his signings.

But hardly surprising. He’s only interested in one thing and that’s himself. Hence the comments.

100% always been the case.

Same in the summer trying to pass the blame for signings onto others.

I think Moyes believes all the fans worship him.

Honestly TFG booting the DOF role because Moyes insisted on it was most probably worse than appointing him in the first place. I’m not even convinced he was their plan B.

The DOF not getting an extension was horrific. We saw what would happen.

Just as yesterday reverting to KDH as a 10 and using Iroegbunam in a 2.

How cant he see the obvious?

The post match comments from Moyes is disgraceful for an Everton Manager to be saying that, Martinez has been the only manager along with Carlo who has been positive and spoke about us as we would like.

As bad as the man U manager performance against us the other night, Moyes has just equalled that v Newcastle.

He has to be questioned on those comments as its not acceptable.

The fans will turn very quickly if it continues, he is definitely on borrowed time that's for sure

I've said before and I'll say again: I'd be very unhappy if TFG are not scouring the continent for the next manager.

For me, if you're signing players for £40m+ and they're not getting a sniff, there's no alignment between the hierarchy and the management team.

David Moyes is a short-term solution anyway, due to his age. I want the right man for the job. I don't think he is it.

For consistency, I didn't like him anyway... but I treat the takeover as a new start, to really try and leave the shackles of the last 30 years behind, and it feels very much like we want to stay there.
With this new Profit/Ratio thing coming in, itll be harder than ever to compete with the "elite", and i just dont think we can afford any transitional seasons.
