2025/26 David Moyes

He needs to play far more direct. We don't want pedestrian slow build up at home. It's the complete opposite to what is happening in the league right now with the set plays and long balls.

Slow pedestrian possession football is a waste of time. I dont want it. Get players up around the forward and play back to front.

Ndiaye or Alcaraz up front just isn't happening. You'd need an awful lot of quality playing from the back through midfield for this to work and we don't have it. Teams would just force the ball to our full backs even more than they do now. A team like us need a big man we can hit and get the ball up the pitch when required, Barry has flattered to deceive on this - flashes where he looks capable but plenty of examples of him being anonymous too. Beto we know has all the physical tools and none of the technical ones. It's a huge problem, but we make it even worse for ourselves by throwing a lad up front with no physical presence at all. Until such time as we have quick wingers who can run in behind, stretch the pitch and create space for a player like Ndiaye to play up front or a significant amount of extra quality through midfield and full back, it isn't worth talking about.
Beto or barry don't win anything in the air, so what's to lose trying it?? Our best football has been when we've moved it through midfield outwide , with Ndiaye and Alcaraz being alot more of a goal threat , give Dibling/Mcneil ago on right, there are options to try different things, unfortunately Ndiaye can't cross to himself

So carry on as we our ?? Beto and Barry don't win hardly any headers or hold the ball anyway. We have a squad with some options , maybe with Dewsbury hall deeper, Alcaraz and Ndiaye further forward with Grealish and Dibling having a run , not 10mins , on right would make us play from back to midfield more due to more lads wanting the ball. When playing better teams could change it round to make midfield more solid with Rohl in there etc. 2 nil down and Alcaraz comes on 85min, Dibling and Tim not at all???

Don't think we've played very well this season at all have we? Brighton second half and Wolves away?

My worry is we get turned over in the next two and we're still six weeks away from being able to bring anyone in with our best player leaving to go the AFCON.

Not wanting to overstate it, but it does feel like this month is massive for him and the players.

Even the Echo are making more sense of the options than Moyes.

I think they have been looking at this forum..

Tho if you liked that read m8, than you should pay attention to the beginning section, where he outlines it's going to take a few seasons to see the progress bare fruit..

The Echo seem to think we have had a good start. 10 games is usually the optimal time to talk about starts. We've played 9 and sit 14th, with 9 goals in 9 games. Right now, that's not a good start. Win at Sunderland in match 10 and we've made a respectable start as we will sit mid-table, comfortably. It's always fine margins this early in the season when making judgements - but I wouldn't be too quick to consider the first 9 games as anything other than mediocre. And we're trending down. The more matches we play, the worse our start appears to be, in general.

That needs to be arrested on Monday or November could get tense.

Why are they saying it's a good start haha? Nonsense.

It feels like we need a good January window.

Fullbacks, a deep lying midfielder and a striker would sort this squad's balance out no end.

A window like 2012 when Gibson, Jelavic and Pienaar came in would be transformative. Changed the whole feel of the season.

I honestly would rather we just move on from him at this point. There’s a section of fans that are just not having him and will never have him, and were never going to have him from day 1. He wouldn’t have been here if the former manager had just managed to be remotely competent for one more season. The discourse around him is so monumentally boring at this point I just want it to be over.
