2025/26 David Moyes

He's a very good proven manager that left every club better than when arrived, but he's also not the easiest person to deal with as Wolfsburg, Frankfurt and Palace prove, the first two he left after falling out with the board.

Get his frustration though, as Palace really isn't backing him much for giving the best time in their history.
Yes, he’s a difficult customer. But after the Kenwright years, I’d be delighted with a manager who is not joined at the hip to the latest “custodian”.

People on here 'amused'' at my statement that Moyes hasn't significantly shifted the dial from Dyche after spending £110M should take a look at the table right now and then compare it to where we were under Dyche at the end of the season from hell that deducted 8 points off us:

we're now 12th

with the 8 points back onto our total in 2023/24 we'd have been 11th or 12th.

As said: no significant improvement.

Unless Glasner had been living on Pluto he would have been aware of Palace's business model. We buy players, develop them and sell them on. It's how we've stayed up for 13 seasons.
We have added Munoz, Kamada, Sosa, Lacroix, Benitez, Pinot, N'Ketiah and Sarr. In addition we wrote off between £30m and £65min Guehi transfer money. This at the same time as rebuilding the main stand.
Glasner has been backed.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Newcastle look to replace Howe with him in the summer.

Yeah, it's very successful, as we can see in the years of zero trophy winning.

You must have grown up in the Moyes era where you were weaned on those horrible hoofball tactics. I, thankfully, was able to see football played the real Everton way and to see us be successful playing it on the deck for as long as we needed to.

Since then we had three seasons of passing football before the troglodytes got their way again and got hoofball back.

What is this "So called" real Everton way ?

Or do you mean the "Everton Way" back in the 80's and certain periods before that.

Its been over 30yrs since than Dave.

If you want a certain style, you only invest in Coaches/Players that fit into that philosophy.

We played way better football under Royle, Martinez, Koeman and Silva.

That's for sure.

No need to go back to the 80s.

Moyes is a horrendous manager who reaches for the hoof because he cant coach players to pass the ball to feet.

His greatest success at this club has been to dumb down our support base to believe a direct ball pumped up front is the only way...this season that's changed a bit - and I'm guessing it's because the owners he has to impress to keep his job want the football played on the deck.

All of them are teams that have finished above us for multiple years now and Sunderland who are flying this year and are a mere 3 points or win ahead of us.

Boring, Dave.

Hold on though, I've just been told we are "significantly improved".

Have I been getting told fibs? 🤔
