I'd be trebling his wages, giving him a big say in transfers with a decent budget and trying to persuade him to come here.Do you think a couple of big signings in Jan will maybe sway his decision?
Can I interest you in a Beto and Mcneil?

Nah form is a thing. Last season we had two spells where we won 3 games on the spin and a long period in the middle of going at a point a game, that’s how things go sometimes. People jumping in and thinking that short runs of form like that are indicative of how a full season is going to pan out is naive in the extreme.Still we scored 29 goals in 19 games, you are always going to get games against poor opposition when you bag a few goals so no surprise we got 4 against Leicester. We've played some poor teams this season we just haven't scored those goals. Similarly the last 12 games of last season we played the whole of the top 5 in the league, so no surprise we weren't going to get as many goals. I think half a season gives you a pretty good indication of where you are and you can dress it up anyway you like but we aren't as good this season as we were last season.
We spent money last summer, clearly we did not spend it well as the players purchased are not involved in the team apart from KDH & Grealish. (& Barry but not if Moyes had a choice).
We seem to have bought the wrong players & the wrong positions. If Kevin Thelwell left because Moyes wanted control which has been his modus operandi then this is on him. I suspect Moyes wanted to fill the squad with experienced pros which isn’t something TFG would sanction hence Moyes’s complaining in the summer.
Sunderland spent similar to us & it seems like they have a style & plan the team & fans are behind together with a direction of travel. It feels that we have neither & are just set up each week in the Moyes historical keep it tight & try to nick one formation.
I know the argument is that we are in transition but realistically every team is in transition outside of the very rich clubs as players are bought & sold & mangers replaced. It feels that we are wasting time going nowhere watching a football style we have seen a hundred times before & that has won us SFA. We have a new stadium & new owners but watching the team feels like we are still stuck in the Moyes’s/Kenwright era.
There’s no down playing this indisputable fact. If we finish mid table with essentially no strikers then Moyes will have done an amazing job. It’s so obvious if you put a decent striker and right back in this team then it would be right in contention for Europe.
I wonder if TFG will throw our name into the hat? Moyes still has a year left but really good managers don't come available very often do they.
So what? That's what often happens, we only lost 3 games in those 19 games so that's a much better level of consistency than we've had this season. Half a season's performance is a decent measure, and it's reasonable to expect that you should be able to match that over a full season, particularly when you've spent £100m on new players!Nah form is a thing. And Palace is just his latest trick. He built his reputation at Eintracht Frankfurt, a proper big club in Germany. He won’t be fazed by whatever big club he joins.
Not on their own, no. They would have to be part of a longer term commitment by the board over a number of seasons, relating to the club generally as well as transfers.Do you think a couple of big signings in Jan will maybe sway his decision?

They'd be crazy not to. As you say really good managers don't come available very often. The way that Moyes has set up our transfers would, ironically, appeal to Glasner to have more of a say in transfer targets.I wonder if TFG will throw our name into the hat? 10 years ago we had no new ground, Kenwright was chairman. Moshiri had just taken over.Heard that like 10 years ago or 15..
If we win on Tuesday we’ll have exactly the same amount of points as we got from his first 19 games. How could that possibly lead you to the conclusion that we had a much better level of consistency last season? I know you’ve got an agenda here but at least try to make sense. So what? Palace fans likely look back at his time at the club in 20 years like we do with Howard ! Glasner might even deliver Palace a European cup! He's a very good proven manager that left every club better than when arrived, but he's also not the easiest person to deal with as Wolfsburg, Frankfurt and Palace prove, the first two he left after falling out with the board.
Get his frustration though, as Palace really isn't backing him much for giving the best time in their history.
Nope, we are on 25 points after 18 games. We got 31 points from 19 games last season. Do the maths! If we win on Tuesday we’ll have exactly the same amount of points as we got from his first 19 games. You’re right, apologies I hadn’t noticed that the Bournemouth home game last year was in the cup not the league.Nope, we are on 25 points after 18 games. We got 31 points from 19 games last season. Do the maths!
