2025/26 David Moyes

Or you could argue that Moyes ruined them for a generation. Ten years on and they still haven't recovered!
That club has had a toxic atmosphere since SAF left. The one thing Amorim was correct about was the sense of entitlement. Giggs thought he should be manager, Ferdinand and others thought Moyes was beneath them. The issue for United is they went from long term security to sacking manager over players and the players felt empowered to down tools. Twice they’ve been second and less than a season later sacked the manager because they just stopped playing.

We drew with Burnley.

Negative football since beating Forest 3-0 and on a high. No goals since then in 3 games.

Next we play Forest and most of us expect them to win 3-0.

Last season we finished 13th and this season after 18 games were 11th.

To achieve this 2 placing improvement £150mil has been spent.

Can you say most of the signings have improved us?

Can you say youre seeing the integration of young players?

Have last seasons players improved again this season?
There will be good and bad as we developed and going through that process will not be error free. No manager in this world will be error free, to pick on everything and bitch fit every weekend is just plain stupid.

Moyes Everton of old was overlapping full backs and scoring midfielders with a solid defensive midfield enforcer and no decent striker.

We just need the full backs and we’d be ok. Imagine we still had Digne in the team. What a difference that would make. Yesterday was the same team that battled relegation team and looked like it.

He was publicly screaming at our recruitment team to get their arses into gear all summer you buffoon.

"Men yells at pub toilet mirror"

CEO confirms recruitment structure in the summer.

CEO confirms recruitment structure after the window

You seem to think he's lying?

Why hasnt Moyes come out in public to call out the CEO in that case?

We need the full backs either way so no matter what there have to be a couple of long term quality full backs signed on both sides and a 2nd right back for competition.

Moyes has had 2 windows to do this and actually turned down quality players. 3rd time lucky?

In recent years they've lost Olise, Eze and will lose Guehi for a cut price fee next month or for free in the summer. Granted, I'd love to have Munoz and Wharton but the rest of their squad is pretty meh. Sarr's alright, I suppose. Glasner's doing a cracking job there. I worry for Palace when Glasner goes (sorry @Alan Whittle). I suspect we couldn't attract him anyway, but pretending he's not any good is an odd position to take.
Mmm. Mitchell would be good. There seems to be a consensus on here that you need full backs. Kamada and Pino would be decent for you through the middle. Imo Mateta and Nketiah are better than what you currently have up top. I appreciate that Henderson wouldn't get in over Pickford but he'd get in everywhere else.
I've been worrying anout Palace since 1968. Glasner will go at some point and whenever that is it won't be the end of the world. Both our squads are pretty thin.

Every club is better than what we have up top. Strand larsen has as many goals than ours and they're adrift at the bottom of league.
Its amazing we're sitting mid table with a contribution of virtually nothing from the two centre forwards at the club.

We spent money last summer, clearly we did not spend it well as the players purchased are not involved in the team apart from KDH & Grealish. (& Barry but not if Moyes had a choice).

We seem to have bought the wrong players & the wrong positions. If Kevin Thelwell left because Moyes wanted control which has been his modus operandi then this is on him. I suspect Moyes wanted to fill the squad with experienced pros which isn’t something TFG would sanction hence Moyes’s complaining in the summer.

Sunderland spent similar to us & it seems like they have a style & plan the team & fans are behind together with a direction of travel. It feels that we have neither & are just set up each week in the Moyes historical keep it tight & try to nick one formation.

I know the argument is that we are in transition but realistically every team is in transition outside of the very rich clubs as players are bought & sold & mangers replaced. It feels that we are wasting time going nowhere watching a football style we have seen a hundred times before & that has won us SFA. We have a new stadium & new owners but watching the team feels like we are still stuck in the Moyes’s/Kenwright era.

There’s no down playing this indisputable fact. If we finish mid table with essentially no strikers then Moyes will have done an amazing job. It’s so obvious if you put a decent striker and right back in this team then it would be right in contention for Europe.
