2025/26 David Moyes

If you're definition of significant is "practically unnoticeable" then maybe.
Dave this time last year you were crying out your arse we'd be a cert to be relegated because we were sacking Dyche.

As I've said before we have what I consider to the 15th-17th best squad in the league, and it's looking pretty tight down to 17th at the moment. If we don't add any players to the squad I confidently expect that we'll finish between 15th and 17th, which would be a par score.

Not for me. Our 1st 11 should be comfortably top 10 minimum, considering their value (not what we paid), wages, and individual statistical performances.
Moving on from that, squad players like Rohl, Dibling, Iroegbunam, either of Keane or OBrien (when Branthwaite is fit) either of the Strikers (hard to say either is first choice) should be finishing higher than 15th imo.
Only real glaring holes are at full back for me and even then we have (flawed) options with OBrein and Garner on the right.

It’s a small squad fair enough, and most certainly needs improvement, but a worse squad finished 15th (iirc) last season after an absolutely rotten stinking first ½ of it.

Notably better while missing perhaps the best player and defensive lynchpin is quite a sizable improvement. Hell, Keane has been improved beyond recognition due to the coaching he has been receiving and looks back to somewhere near his best.

All of them are teams that have finished above us for multiple years now and Sunderland who are flying this year and are a mere 3 points or win ahead of us.

Boring, Dave.
Multiple covers a wide margin. We finished above Brentford in 23/24 and without the points deduction we’d have been above Fulham

Unless Glasner had been living on Pluto he would have been aware of Palace's business model. We buy players, develop them and sell them on. It's how we've stayed up for 13 seasons.
We have added Munoz, Kamada, Sosa, Lacroix, Benitez, Pinot, N'Ketiah and Sarr. In addition we wrote off between £30m and £65min Guehi transfer money. This at the same time as rebuilding the main stand.
Glasner has been backed.

Jep, you made that well over the time, my respect for that.

But there is a net spend of +27 mio in the last 2 years. You cannot replace Eze or Olise with a player on the same level as Palace that's sure, but backing not really.

Yes, he’s a difficult customer. But after the Kenwright years, I’d be delighted with a manager who is not joined at the hip to the latest ā€œcustodianā€.

If there is a chance to bring in someone on the level of Glasner, Iraola (atm struggling at Bournemouth) that proved his value at former clubs, we should definitely consider it in the summer.

But at the moment, there is no need to change unless we get in real trouble.
