Virtually no one is really calling for him to be sacked now though are they? Pretty much all been at the end of the season.
Ahem….

Pretty sure Davek has said he should only go in the summer.

Yeah he definitely didn't want him appointed (neither did I tbf) but I'm sure if you asked him now, he'd say he should go in the summer.Pretty sure he’s said he shouldn’t be here at all![]()
But why, is the question, when things are all trending in the right direction so far?Virtually no one is really calling for him to be sacked now though are they? Pretty much all been at the end of the season.

Unless someone better shows interest I don't see any reason to stop progress.
I’ll answer, but it’s been said multiple times in various forms but all objections to our manager get rolled up into nonsense like expecting Europe and forgetting where we were a year ago
We have seen over 10yrs of Moyes already, it is absolutely and completely normal to think he won’t do much more than okay with us as the base of evidence is very large. With that in mind, if the club have finally got their house in order I’d prefer see the manager in the summer that can continue the progress but who also doesn’t have a clear ceiling to what they can achieve. iMO
I think it’s also completely normal to think Moyes just might do that bit extra this time around, or that another season or two beyond this are okay to leave as a further stabilising period under him.
What’s not normal is the few posters having conniptions at any negative comment about him, or the others going over the top in the criticism inc the main troll that I wish people would stop using as a reference point in multiple threads
Think the issue is whether the 'progress' is because of Moyes or in spite of him.But why, is the question, when things are all trending in the right direction so far?

Depends who is available in the summer and what sort of manager TFG/Kinnear/whoever in our opaque management structure is in charge of this stuff want in the medium to long term. As the OP says, I'm not convinced that anyone wants a change now (obviously apart from our citrussy friend) but season's end is a decent place to take stock, particularly if you have a longer term plan. If the right coach isn't available then having Moyes for another year is palatable, if they are then make the move. I'm not sure that's a very controversial statement. I think most posters, other than true believer @JobForTheMoyes, acknowledge that Moyes has limitations and, let's be frank, he's not getting any younger. I don't think anyone is wanting rid for the sake of it but if a good opportunity arises then we should be open to it.I'm not saying keep him forever, I'm saying why sack him while things are progressing. I feel 2 and a half years is the right amount of time for him to get us to the top of his limit and then to move on saying thank you very much.
The key thing about your answer is that it starts off with pointing to the ten years he was here previously. I'm focused on judging him solely on what he's done and been asked to do since he came here the second time. He's doing an alright job of it and we are improving in the league even though that cup exit was terrible.
I don't think there's too many valid complaints anyone can have about what he's done in the last 12 months beyond that wolves match. We are much improved and appear to be set to continue to do so and it's a welcome relief after half a decade of stagnation or regression.
I'm not eager to sack someone who's got the club going in the right direction on the blind hope that someone Not-Moyes may be better. We've seen over a decade that choosing the right manager isn't a simple task.
I don't know how anyone can really argue it's in spite of him?Think the issue is whether the 'progress' is because of Moyes or in spite of him.
I don't keep up with much footy outside of Everton these days so I have no idea who would be a candidate.Depends who is available in the summer and what sort of manager TFG/Kinnear/whoever in our opaque management structure is in charge of this stuff want in the medium to long term. Same as against arsenal I presumeIts going to be interesting to see who is selected and how we set up against Burnley.
