2025/26 David Moyes

That game took me back to the old Moyes days, fuming he hasn't brought a sub on till the 70th minute when we have been hammered basically all of that, playing cms all over the place, I would of played McNeil LB but Moyes has a track record of playing CMS and other positions out of position. Yes it's worked with O'Brien to an extent but still.

I honestly down blame him for not playing McNeil full back against Gnonto or James. He’s slow and lacks aggression. Would not have ended well.

You can tell when a midfield is uncomfortable on the ball they just pass it backwards

You need midfielders who are comfortable on the ball, comfortable in possession, demand the ball and can dictate play

I’m not sure our midfielders were helped by having a complete cart horse up front to be fair.

Im hoping Moyes might be brave and start Barry on Sunday… unless we’ve signed vardy and he wants to give him a go.

All I want is for Moyes to stop running out the same starters in the same positions that yielded absolutely nothing this entire summer. Because he did it again last night and it cost us points.
Yeah , I feel Moyes stuck in his ways. No fresh talent, at least v1 Moyes played a young Rooney, Barkley.

They've utterly f&&$d up the summer. Utter arrogance/ incompetence and wastefulness after the good run last Jan and Feb.

Are we really spending 250k a week on Grealish. That's the level of imagination we had when needing to fix our entire right side and 2 x CMs.

Thanks for the pin in the balloon bottom 6-7 season.

Just rinse the everton faithful AGAIN to instead make BMD a place to be - in the absence of a well managed football team.

I think Moyes may well be in trouble soon. Either he gets a right wing and a right back, in which case our American overlords will expect him to be winning games and we've all seen how quick to sack a coach they can be. Or he gets a few squad fillers in and TFG still expect him to get results, as they have spent nearly £100 million.

So basically he gets the players he wants and quickly turns us into a winning side or there is every chance that TFG pull the trigger.

Moyes needs a Fellaini type player and fast, some physicality, able to put a foot in, and not bullied out of a game.

We have no strength and presence in the middle. It was mentioned last season when Doucoure was clearly going to be allowed to leave, we have no one to go into midfield and carry the battle. We've a midfield of five foot sixers. And we're all wondering why we're not able to get a foothold in games.
Sides will look to outmuscle us all season because we've got precious little to go back at them with.

Got to fight for the right to play a bit, and we're being outfought before a balls been kicked.

Problem!

Said the same on Monday. The game has moved on from 2008. Can't have a team that's so one paced

I think if we're in the bottom five at Christmas it wouldn't surprise me if he's chased by TFG.
Bottom 6/7 would be my guess.

Because you just know Moyes will be still whingeing and making them look bad.

I think it might suit Moyes too. For me he looks like a manager who wants out - a manager who's realised that his dinosaur tactics cant cut it any longer and the expectations at the club due to new owners / new stadium are too much to handle.

Give him decent players and he can get a tune out of them.

His “dinosaur tactics” were a European places finish from January until May.

So on the basis of 1 game, that’s bollocks.

One game? Did you leave out all pre-season games too?

Oh, and that job he did last season was laced with some of the worst performances we saw in the last few seasons.

“European places form” is the key phrase here David.

He’s since then lost 10 players, some of whom were regular starters.

We both agree he’s been let down on player recruitment. Not sure how you don’t consider that with the pre season problems he has.

Who he had the power to keep on but didn't.

And the pre-season was a disaster because he made it so. He's not fit to be the manager of this club. He underlined that again at Leeds when he played Garner at LB when we've just bought one. He wrecked the whole shape of the team to make *a point*.

He's pathetic.
