2025/26 David Moyes

Just goes back to mentality for me - we concede loads of late goals v the top sides (obviously v Liverpool, City and Arsenal this year). Why? Because we are always on the back foot holding on for a draw rather than the front foot looking for a winner/kill the game.

Problem is: say we stay on the front foot with a lead and end up conceding, people immediately say “why didn’t we see the game out?”

There's a balance I think. Obviously if you've got 5 men ahead of the ball in the last minute and give it away and concede people are going to have a go about your game management, but I think it's accurate to say that very often we're effectively just setting up camp at the edge of our box for the last 15 minutes of games and then act like it's pure bad luck when the opposition score in injury time. You can see the game out while still being on the front foot, particularly if you can be trusted to play more than 2 passes before someone gives it away or launches it.

Aye to me it just depends on outcome. You can defend backs against the wall and win (United) and the performance is praised. Lose and they’re cowards. I do prefer front foot myself.

I believe he`s sent out Tyler Dibling to act as a Sherpa, for a Japanese climbing team and their first attempt to summit Everest without oxygen.
Ive heard that he's not great at continually leading the climb and setting a good pace, but if there were to be a good sherpa that could share the the load and overlap, it could be a huge success.
