2025/26 David Moyes

….’he will improve the team, he will push you on towards the top end of the table’

Agree and pretty much my view too. hopefully that’s our situation when his contract ends in 12 months. Ideal basis to hand over the reigns.
That;s the entire reason he should be shown the door now tho. I get it, you don't think he's done THAT bad. But we basically gave David Moyes full authority on all transfers. Regardless of who he buys, don't you think allowing a manager in the last 12 months of his contract to dictate who comes in is a very bad strategy? It's the the whole "stick or twist", either give him an extension and let him continue all the sayings of the club or bring in someone else now. It's absolutely insane to allow someone who you even say should be done in 12 months to bring in his own players for.

I agree I want him gone, according to the bobble there was a meeting with Moyes, watts, kinnear as soon as the season finished, then they would report back to TFG. Hopefully the meeting has gone disastrous for Moyes.

The worry is TFG only wanted to give him 18 months have they passed all control to kinnear and he thinks mid table is success and Moyes gets 3 more years. I think he will be getting sacked with Moyes if that’s the case
We must remember Moyes himself said he wanted to limit his time here and just wanted to steady the ship before hitting the bottle .I am pinning my hopes on that ,sadly it is the hope that kills you .
In all honesty you would think he would quit ,he knows we know and I am sure the board know ,I just believe they are shuffling the pack of available managers and will tell us soon before more heads wobble off than on a Roman road .

Disaster is bottom three. It’s still a poor season overall, and I am firmly of the belief that we could get a better manager.
In the past any EFC manager heading us in that direction gets sacked... so that's a non argument - DM quote I will look in the championship as foreign players are unpredictable - he never did that .......

….ok, uncrossed fingers

It’s just a term, Matey, hoping we have a successful transfer window.
What would be a successful tranfer window bearing in mind Moyes aversion to change ? I am intrigued to know your view . Has anyone covered why Patterson never got a game ? If you remember he is a right back ,the very position that Jake had his asre roasted time and again .

….we don’t know that yet, Cox and Smith are the key players and both were appointed after last summer ;)
Lets stop this nonsense right now if DM never got his own way or influenced incoming players on the limited transfer budget - e.g players signed who were poor before we wasted money on them - he would have walked well by now .... half way trough the season - he is a freeloader who has been sacked 3 times in his career -
At first the club offered him a one year deal - he wanted three years ... so he has power to blame his so called committee looking for excuses for him is very low bar -

DM selects the team - decides on substitutions & the last game v Spurs was a sackable offence v Spurs on its own merit - & our home form was diabolical we lost ten points to Spurs & W Ham { the latter were relegated }!

Only our away form was good as it suited his dire attempt to play the game of football ....

Villa away was the best performance of the season IMO - a midfield trio of Rhol -HA - & Garner - good I thought he has cracked it 3 in midfield beating a very good side - next game at home lost as he dropped Rhol & HA ??????? oh & JOB was CH

….they did brilliantly, fantastic transfer window. They’ll be a good benchmark too.

Don’t get this ‘lack of ambition’ tag, except it’s a throwaway line everybody likes. Getting ahead of Bournemouth could mean Europe or even Champions League. You can throw a blanket over a number of teams in this league.
Some of the Moyes haters conveniently forget that between the first week of November and late December Bournemouth went 11 games without a win. So if Moyes had been sacked before the January window how many would have been drooling over Iraola as his replacement then?

For anyone who was claiming Paddy Boyland was a Moyes sycophant, he rated the season a C- which I think is a pretty accurate summation.
Here's his season review

"Most important of all, though, will be what happens with Moyes, with his contract up next summer.

Kinnear publicly backed him before Sunderland, with Everton set to assess the situation at the end of the season. Clarity would be helpful."

Doesn't seem 100% guaranteed that he'll be here in August

That's why on that DM poll on here only 11% want him to stay, he should have been sacked after the Spurs game - end of -
That would have shown ambition the ones across the park win the league get back in the champions league see how crap the performances have been won’t waste more money with the same manager and look to see a promising manger come available and act before someone else steps in we seem to have the same type of owners all over again

At the business end Iraola performed, when it counted, Moyes didn't. He lost Semenyo and was unbeaten for the rest of the season even though he was leaving.
Poor example
