2025/26 David Moyes

Players are identified based on overall team data blended with the managers philosophy/setup. If Moyes has an issue with players then maybe he needs to look closer to home. An example being strikers, just because a striker is tall doesn't mean they want the ball launched at head/chest height all the time, most modern strikers want it ahead of them too run onto. Players are tought about the risks of dementia and other health issues these days, why would any half decent striker want to play for us given the way we play.
Beto doesn't appear to be bothered too much Barry appears to have struggled with shoulder issues for most of the season. The fact that a player fits the profile a manager wants doesn't automatically mean he will be able to produce the form on the pitch that's required. Hate to harp on about Dibling but he's done little to show that he's a "once in a generation" talent. The CF position has been a funny one,if we'd paid around 40 million for one and he'd scored 17 goals in 40 games that'd have looked like a good return considering we don't create that many chances but because it's been shared between two unpopular strikers...

I wouldn`t say that Beto is unpopular, limited as a striker, yes, but unpopular no.

Most fans recognise his limitations, but appreciate him for his effort and application.

I can`t remember a game where he`s played and thought that he hadn`t ran his heart out. He may have missed a few and the ball may have bounced off him a few times, but the effort was always there.

You can see the fact that he wants to be here in him, which sadly you can`t say the same for Barry.

He gets more than his fair share of stick, any game he doesn't score he gets dogs abuse. Most of the Barry v Beto thread seems to concur they're both not good enough.

Difference is if a young player makes mistakes and they carry on,it can ruin their confidence long term. So if he sees the likes of Dibling and George making basic mistakes on a regular basis during training at Finch Farm playing them in the Prem to sink or swim would be the right thing to do for their careers and for results on the pitch?
BWAHAHAHAAHHAAAA

"He sees them making mistakes when it doesn't matter and doesn't coach them to remove them but watches his TRUSTED players make mistakes week in and week out when it ABSOLUTELY matters but doesn't do a thing".

That's your stance lad. That. That's your rationale. Sound.

Horrendous.

Go David before time trips up a credible 2 stints. Talk sport likes a Scottish accent. 'Kin stay there you boring dollop.

Going out on his shield at the cost of EFC is a lose lose lose scenario for club, fans and squad where only Moyes wins.
Even Moyes loses. He should go now while he still has credit in the media at least. He'll then get another 3 year deal at a Fulham or somewhere like that. When he's inevitably sacked around Christmas time his capital will be in the gutter.

"better to keep your mouth shut and them think you a fool than to open it and remove all doubt"

And, once again, why is this completely on Dibling and NOT the man who is paid 6million a season to get the best out of his players?

This is the Dibling we want to see, but unfortunately he’s not a wing back who’s asked to defend for the majority of a game and cover a centre back at right back.

In a long list of crazy takes this one takes the biscuit. He's not playing Dibling and George to help them with their confidence?! I'm sure they're full of confidence currently then. Goodness gracious.

So you know exactly what happened and the procedure when Dibling was identified as a transfer target.
We've got a transfer system where there is no DOF due to Moyes's demands. We've got a Director of Recruitment and Scouting who was chosen by Moyes and who reports to Moyes. Speculative explanations for Dibling transfer posted by you that fly in the face of the above information above just don't hold water.

Beto is not umpopular.

From what I've read and this is just my interpretation, the scouts are looking for players that exhibit attributes, Moyes has clearly established a preference towards, with even some of his assistance coaches scouting out a particular player if there's a continued curiosity. So it's not like a kid at a grocery store having to pick from either cereal a or b, he doesn't have the control he did during his first time here but it's not like hes just a passenger in the process either ,he still has a major influence and dictates what he prefers player wise it's just designed to be streamlined
I'd say he pretty much has exactly the same control he had here last time. He doesn't negotiate the actual deal with the player is most probably the only major change. He will still have to work within budgetary constraints obviously.
