2025/26 David Moyes

Well as you've stated history doesn't count for anything with Southampton, Brentford and Brighton. But then didn't Brighton have Potter and Southampton have Koeman. Sometimes managers don't travel too well.
Both did really well for those clubs, the fact it didn’t work out at Everton and Chelsea doesn’t lessen the benefit of thinking outside the box with managerial appointments, as for thinking i was making a point about history not counting for any of those clubs or any other club for that matter, is just plain weird.

Well ones travelling to Anfield - they don't mess about & neither should we ....look at the poll on here only 9% want DM !

But Nuno at Spurs, Potter at Chelsea, Koeman here, the Brentford guy at Spurs all show the danger of just changing without having a good plan in place.

There are countless other examples.

So apparently Slot’s 2nd season was “underwhelming”.

And yet, if they bring in Areola (!) and he has a modicum of success, they'll all be bobbing his knob like the manager sycophants they are with nary an acknowledgement that they spent half a Bill (and counting) on 'kin players. The manager ain't everything, just an adult babysitter.

I don't think you understood anything I said at all. I am not employed by the club, the club pays millions of pounds to directors who are in charge of the sporting side of the club, so "who do we hire if we sack Moyes?" shouldn't be something fans need to answer, there are hundreds of qualified managers in world football who would jump at the chance to coach in the Premier League with Everton, its up to those board members to identify who the best option would be. This 2nd rate squad you're talking about was mostly assembled by the manager you are backing, 12 players left in the summer and he was tasked with identifying the replacements as none of the rest of our recruitment team were in their posts yet.
Nowhere have I backed Moyes,I'm just pointing out be careful what you wish for.

It's our history that doesn't count for anything.
In the modern game you have to have the money to shop with the big boys, that ship has sailed for us. Some of the fan base need to realise that. Where I live you often see kids in Liverpool,Man U Arsenal and Chelsea shirts. Never seen an Everton shirt in over 20 years, that's where we are in history.

So Potter then?

The fan base don’t have to realise anything, don’t have to do anything, some can choose to demand we strive to be better, others can choose to worship at the altar of the Beige messiah
