2025/26 David Moyes

Nothing symbolises the old , just get by - make do Everton than Moyes. He's so locked in the Kenwright past.

I can understand why TFG turned to him when Dyche packed it in and we were in real jeopardy.

However surely the new regime , with a still bright new shiny stadium want to make a statement, a break from the past and have a fresh start..

The fact that TFG are so disinclined to do so leads to the conclusion that they will look to flip us for a profit in a season or 2.

What time is the Presser?

Good times.

Reading some of the stuff on Arteta. Moved on Aubemayang Ozil Xhaka Pepe Lacazette. Ruthless on Ramsdale and Zinchenko his own signings when better was available. No sentiment for Smith Rowe Nketiah Reiss Nelson Holding, Arsenal graduates. Backed Saka and Martinelli above those former star players.

Obviously everything is easier when you have billions to spend but still it’s big decision after big decision, risk after risk.

Pep did the same at Barcelona and at City. Big stars shown the door for young players who would work his way. Arguably Ferguson took the same gamble with the clash of 92.

Moyes has retained Keane multiple times now, new deal for Mykolenko, has only changed the back 4 by bringing OBrien in. Added KDH to the same midfield, added Grealish on loan to the same attack.

That’s it. No gambles taken on Dibling George Rohl Armstrong Alcaraz Aznou Patterson.

If we want to move fleets we need to make bold decisions and to date we haven’t made a single one.

….no matter how he relays the story so many years later will be criticised by some, just as his every word is interpreted now. He’s positive and folk say he’s unrealistic, he’s negative and folk say he’s not optimistic.

The reality with Rooney is that he was always going to leave when he wanted to leave, it wasn’t a case of us pushing him out. I understood that at the time and I loved watching his success at United where he went on to become arguably one of Englands greatest ever footballers.

I like Rooney, it’s a great success story from watching him at 15 playing for our U18s and walking out of Bellefield behind his parents.
Yes I agree that while I can’t stand the sight of Moyes as Everton manager the Rooney deal was inevitable the way the club was run by Kenwright, robbing Peter to pay Paul, but let’s be honest Moyes was a well paid partner in what was going on for a eleven and a half years and most of a full attendance at his last game, first time round, gave him a standing ovation at the end of the game, I’m so very glad I wasn’t one of them, I was up on my toes and away when the final whistle went.

This is what I can't understand. 2 more seasons of finishing in the bottom half and a lot of older players on expensive contracts would make us less attractive to any potential buyers.

Maybe there is a silver lining there? Maybe this isnt the rebirth, that comes with the new owners: A faceless hedgefund outfit financed by Trump Jr and Venezuelan oil money with an AI module working as CEO/CIO/CFO and transfer department...oh Joy!!!

That's what petrifies me. There's not a lot of billionaires who want playthings. They just hoard their money at this point. I don't get what the next buyer is even supposed to be. Private equity is what my money is on and that's terrifying.

I don't think either Arteta or Pep are in any way the comparisons we can use when discussing Everton.

Glassner and Iraola are more realistic.
